It's time to put our suggestions list for indie talents on the table!
BUT!!!
We are not specifying in which MYC we want to see them appearing. This year it looks like several of our dream contestants will appear, some will reappear (little bit annoying, but whatever), like Deonna Purrazzo, Io Shirai, Toni Storm, Steffani Newell, etc. But there are more slots and we have a dates for shooting the tournament...
So, here are ten names plus our usual, and kind of bigger Bonus of several names that we want to see as well! We are suggesting the countries they might represent as well, so let's go and see who is in!
TAELER HENDRIX (USA)
A veteran! Champion! Controversial!
This fiery red-head had made a rounds around the indie's rings, even being signed to two of the biggest USA promotions (Impact Wrestling and ROH/WOH)
. Some fans are sceptical, but her accomplishments list (even her win over Awesome Kong) is speaking better for itself!
Hendrix will be an interesting addition to MYC and there are some rumors that she might be involved in this year's edition, or she just prayed to be involved... If not this year, next or the follow, she might be added, because she has made name for herself and I have followed her since her debut in OVW. She's not bad as a wrestler, guys, come on! She's someone who prove her devotion to the business and really need this final accomplishment, so we will be happy to see her in it!
LEI D'TAPA (KINGDOM OF TONGA)
It's exotix enough just to add competitor from Tonga, who was sidelined at the inaugural event. Someone who had the chance to face Ember Moon in NXT.
Lei D'Tapa's career started in OVW and went through Impact, where she had several good storylines and was criticized by Gail Kim. Actually the Tonga's native is someone who is so studious worker and she kind of develop through the years. WWE trainers are good in hiding the weaknesses of their talents, so it will be no problem to find the better way to present Tapa in the tournament, this or next year!
And the powerhouses are always welcomed in MYC. Last year we had four of them, involved (Jazzy Gabert, Reina Gonzalez, Piper Niven and Sage Beckett).
FABY APACHE (MEXICO)
Oh, it's not easy to browse through the Mexican Luchadoras pool of talents. AAA and CMLL are the biggest and the two who are giving chances to so many world wide and Mexican female talents, aside from sexism and misogyny.
Faby Apache comes from a famous wrestling family. Daughter of the Grand Apache, she is destined to rule in the ring in her native gimmick. She worked in Japan as well, before returning to Mexico and take over AAA, with her talent.
After Princesa Sugehit really good appearance last year it won't be bad to see this lady trying her best and making impression in Full Sail University, as part of the biggest women's wrestling event of the year!
LUSCIOUS LATASHA (USA)
With some tryouts for Impact, a lot of work for the indies and promotions like SHINE, this woman deserve a spot, in edition of Mae Young Classic!
Latasha is known for her professionalism and good knowledge of the ropes, so for her to step in the ring with some of the greatest and biggest names in the world, will not be that stressful as for many others. As we said up there - she crafted her art in the forge of the indies, so she will be a really nice addition as well.
SHAZZA McKENZIE (AUSTRALIA)
The last 5-6 years, many Australian talents found their way to WWE NXT and the main roster. Actually the wrestlers from the Land Down Under, are nothing new and have made waves through the wrestling business for years.
Shazza McKenzie is not a new and unfamiliar name for WWE Universe. She had competed in NXT (remember her match against Emma, that revived some old memories?). She is iconic name for the USA indie scene participating in events for SHINE and SHIMMER, wining titles. So, maybe this year will be McKenzie's Mae Young Classic year! Why not? She is well know face at the indie scene and MYC is all about international, indie or NXT talents getting opportunity to shine bright even for a match. McKenzie is someone who really deserves to be in the 32 lucky women, participating in the tournament.
NICOLE MATTHEWS (CANADA)
Another one who was signed as an eventual alternate if one of the main participants, got injured (with Deonna Purrazzo, Barbi Hayden, Jessica James and Lei D'Tapa). Well, she was awarded a match against Asuka, for her patience, but this year we hope to see her involved and representing Canada.
One name: The Canadian Ninjas!
The team of Matthews and inactive Portia Perez. Team that made waves and shake of the indie scene in promotions like SHIMMER. Since we can't get Perez, we can have the other best half, who is great on her own, with her singles titles wins as well. Nicole Matthews is really talented woman and her in ring skills are not to be taken lightly. So we hope to see her this year, if not maybe next one... nah, come on, WWE, add her to the 32s-list!
JESSICKA HAVOK (USA)
Something wicked this way comes!
Something ruthless! Something tough!
Something fearsome!
To describe Jessicka Havok's career is like to describe the creation of the Universe, it's indescribable! She's a name in the pro-wrestling! She is someone with huge legacy and contribution to the women's wrestling. She worked for every respected and known promotion, who dared to book her. WWE, don't miss this one, like Lucha Underground did!
Jessicka Hvaok will bring havoc to the tournament, she will be more than powerhouse, she will bring brilliance-colorfulness in a specific way! She's one of the best in the world and there's no better place to be for her, except included in between the 32 participants of MYC!
LuFISTO (FRANCE and/or CANADA)
She is French-Canadian, but she is famous in the USA, mostly. LuFisto is one of the iconic female wrestlers of the last decade and she is a suitable competitor for WWE's all-women biggest event of the year.
From Canada, through Mexico and the United States, LuFisto has earned a lot of experience, has established her name and developed her talent, enough, so her legacy better early than later, will bring her to WWE and (why not?) MYC! She will be one of the dominant competitors, with huge chances to reach the quarter and the semi-finals. She is a force that WWE should use for the event, if not this, maybe next year.
SARAYA KNIGHT (UNITED KINGDOM or ENGLAND)
If we can't have Paige competing in WWE ring, we can call her mother, who showed her the ropes!
'Sweet Saraya' Knight is a NAME on the independent scene. She owns her all-women promotion in Britain. She has competed around the world and there are no signs of retirement for her. Mae Young Classic will be the top of her accomplishments, without signing with WWE. It will be honor for the promotion to have this great Superstar, participating in the event. It would be huge deal for Saraya to smash several of the greatest (again) on that big scene.
So we hope to see it happen!
AYAKO HAMADA (JAPAN)
This one is the dream one... one of the biggest dream ones!
Hamada's accomplishments around the world are so many. She even defeated Kana/Asuka. We heard that she doesn't want to sign with huge promotion, because she don't want to be obliged to appear every week in a TV program. She tried this with TNA/Impact, but she wasn't that happy. Of course she is loyal to AAA in Mexico, as well, where her legacy is better known, but the appearance in international, pro-wrestling forum as Mae Young Classic, will be her masterpiece.
This is something that many fans would like to see happening and we hope to see Hamada paying attention to this out of her opinion for the US biggest promotions.
We really hope to see this miracle happens, maybe not this, but in the following years!
This time our 'honorable mentions' will be many and not all of the names we want to include. We are planning several other MYC related charts, so there in this section, will be more competitors, who deserve to be involved, and we are still not enough comperhensive, because the indies are full of talents and we are constantly witnessing the rising of new names.
