The biggest winner of the week is from Australia! She is sited as underrated Superstar, but this week she prove that she is a factor in RAW women's division! Congratulations!
Actually we have two biggest winners from The Land Down Under. But overall this week RAW and NXT brought the emotions and excitement in WWE. SDL stayed stable in the land of stability, presenting to us one brawl and one short match.
RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPION ALEXA BLISS IS INSULTING THE #1 CHALLENGER MICKIE JAMES,... THE GENERATIONS WAR CONTINUES!
Mickie James entered the ring to make a statement: she is concentrated on one number - 7! That will be the combined number of title reigns, that she will reach as a milestone of her WWE career. James is undoubtedly one of the greatest pro-wrestlers who ever stepped in WWE and Impact! The news about her induction in the WWE Hall of Fame are not surprising for anyone! She deserves it! But we still think that she needs someone from her WWE past to elevate her even higher. Until then...
... we have her facing the Goddess and current RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss! We remeber the critics about their match in SmackDown Live. Back then we from AWOW defended Bliss, and we are still at the same position. Different generations, different style of training. Now we hope to see a better match after Alexa's almost 2 years career in WWE - career that is amazing with two SmackDown and RAW Women's titles reigns.Bliss cut her promo in her amazing funny way, with her face expressing fake sorrow at the beginning(I love the face expressions of Bliss and Nia Jax), ending with a devilish smile, after the video package that was supposed to 'honored' Mickie James.
The brawl was short after the Champ escaped the ring, but overall the segment was really good and I enjoy it! Just can't wait to see what will happen the following weeks, prior WWE TLC PPV...
EMMA VS. ALICIA FOX VS. BAYLEY VS. SASHA BANKS VS. DANA BROOKE, FATAL-5-WAY ELIMINATIONS MATCH, FOR THE HONOR TO FACE THE EMPRESS OF TOMORROW AT TLC... WHO IS THE DEAD MAN?
Kurt Angle decided to determine the Asuka's debut opponent in a really good manner, allowing 5 Superstars from the most underrated to the top names, to compete for the honor, to be smashed at TLC, by the debuting, undefeated Empress of Tomorrow!
I will start with the segment:
Have you heard how many truths were told?
From Alicia's missing merchandise to Dana's 'Sometimes I feel like I even don't exist'-thing! I am pleasently surprised that WWE creatives allow themselves to write down the true. The segment was really good.
No friendship is valid on the way to the top! |
5 hungry for fame ladies, fought in this eliminations match, for the rare opportunity to become the Empress' welcoming committee (or victim - depends on which side of the track you look at that fact)! I prefer 'welcoming committee' (!victim!).
OK! I was so happy to see Alicia and Dana working with the A-list names like Sasha and Bayley. Even being eliminated by them.
Emma!
I can't rate Emma, because for me she is someone really special. No, I am not agree that she started the Women's Revolution (the likes of Mildred Burke, Mae Young, etc are laying the foundations, the likes of Lita, Trish, etc. followed the footsteps). Emma with some big help by Paige put NXT women's division on the map! Her matches with the Superstar/then-Diva of Tomorrow, back there at Takeovers and TV tapings were just great examples of how the work should be done. So now I think that Emma's win, with this 'stealing the moment' roll-up was just well planned and deserved. But it's all part of her gimmick!
We will talk about Asuka vs. Emma, later in the week. For now, we are suggesting you to watch NXT Takeover:London to have a taste of what is coming.
As for the rest of the women involved in the match: line up and be prepare to meet your destiny/doom Tomorrow!
Emma told in a post-match interview that she is tired of hearing Asuka's name and that she is the one responsible for the Women's revolution! |

BACKSTAGE BRAWL BETWEEN BABYFACES AND HEELS
Natalya had some chat with The Ravishing Lana and her 'client' Tamina, interrupted by Miss Money In The Bank Carmella. At the end the champ just announced that the belt will look great at any of their waists, except for Charlotte Flair's.
That lead to a mass brawl that involved, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Naomi!
We didn't see that very often, backstage especially, but this week it was sort of a fresh air.
BECKY LYNCH VS. CARMELLA
... THE QUICKIES VICTORY EVER!
Becky Lynch had an opportunity to shine this week.
Facing Carmella, with her pet James Ellsworth at ring side, was kind of retribution for Lynch's Money in the Bank matches losses. Remember those where Ellsworth always tripped Becky and took away the opportunity to win the match away from the orange-headed Superstar.
Both Carmella and Becky have their pro and cons as wrestlers, but the experience and the anger of the Irish Lass Kicker were her advantage in that match. So after some moves exchanges everything ended in the pleasant and well deserved way, despite the fact that the match wasn't that long. Becky locked Miss Money In The Bank, in a ultimate Dis-Arm-Her submission for an impressive and important victory!
PEYTON ROYCE VS. NIKKI CROSS VS. LIV MORGAN,
QUALIFYING MATCH FOR NXT TAKEOVER:HOUSTON'S NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP FATAL-4-WAY MATCH
... VENUS FLY TRAP VICTORY... WITH SOME UNEXPECTED HELP!
Kairi Sane is not alone any more! This week she was joined by second Superstar in the match graphic for NXT TakeOver:Houston...WarGames... or whatever it is called!
It was a good start of this week's NXT TV episode. Three really talented NXT ladies. Two with indie background. Nice formula for a good match and Billie Kay at ringside, ready to help her Iconic friend Peyton Royce!
Well, Peyton won, but not with Kay's help!
Nikki Cross- crazy and ruthless! |
Man, the match was dynamic. The beginning was interesting when Nikki and Liv started the match throwing Royce out of the ring. I love to watch these women working! They put everything they have in this match.
Liv Morgan- feisty , fiery and innovative as always |
For me Nikki Cross was the ideal winner and that's why the drama of the match was build around her. Cross was one step closer to the win and... The Undisputed Era entered the ramp with Taynara Conti. The Brazilian Martial arts Black belt, who was really impressive against Lacey Evans in Round 1 of Mae Young Classic, made her unexpected, but welcomed NXT TV debut, by distracting the Scottish Supernova - Cross, by luring her in a in-and-out ring chase! That was enough for Peyton Royce to capitalize with a kick and steal the biggest victory that night!
Actually in a WWE.com extra it became clear that Conti had a agreement with the ERA, eventually to joining them, but they cut her out, telling her that she fulfilled her purpose and they don't need her anymore! Bad news for Taynara or maybe Undisputed ERA, just got a dangerous enemy... you know hell has no fury like a woman scorned! #YES! #Taynara2ScrewERABack!
Taynara Conti did the ERA's dirty work... and was screwed up by them after the show! |
Now Royce is joining Kairi Sane in the NXT Women's Championship Fatal-4-Way at the forthcoming NXT Takeover.
Meanwhile we know who will compete in the next Qualifying match! Ember Moon will face Ruby Riot and Sonya Deville, next week to determine the #3!
That sounds really promising!
THE ZELINA-FACTOR!
We didn't write a lot about women's managers, like Maria or Maryse, but Zelina Vega is our charismatic enigma.
The woman who helped Andarde 'Cien' Almas to rebuild his career is someone who I remember with a lot of nostalgia from TNA/Impact as the stunning 1/2 TNA Knockoust Tag Team Champion - Rosita.
This week Zelina was factor again in Almas rematch against Johnny Gargano! I'm following this rivalry, not only because these guys work really good, together in the ring, but because I hope that we will see Candice LeRae debuting as her husband's enforcer against Vega. That is a door opening for a stunning Mixed Tag team match at the forth coming TakeOver!
Don't you think!
