WWE TLC'S ECHO PT. 02: (WOMEN'S) MAIN EVENT FOR THE DECADES

NOTE: Our policy is to watch the PPV or the show or the match and then to write an article about it. After our financial costs cuts, we don't have WWE Network and we have to be more inventive and to find alternatives. So we are one day late, I know ... but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

Thank you for your support and patience!

The Main Event!

The SmackDown Women's Championship TLC match!

Charlotte stopped her opponents attempts to bring ladders and tables earlier in the match.
First ever!

Historical!

Only the idea for it makes you full of excitement!

And we had three of the top women not only in SmackDown Live, but in the whole WWE! Almost 30 min battle for climbing the ladder of success and to reach that belt! Aaaaand... end that is controversial!

Let's focus on the match first! The electricity sparks from the entrances of the participants to the moment when the ring-bell rang!
Tough landing for the Man.

Overall

The match on my opinion was AMAZING! Technically, dramatically, as quality 10 out of 10! Really intensive, something happening all the time, emotions and moves flew around! Really great and tough show! For the sites who pick their women's match of the year like PWI, this one is a serious #1 contender for the top of your charts, guys! For me it beats the Women's inaugural Royal Rumble match and Evolution PPV both put together!
Asuka dominates.

While in the MMC we wanted to see Carmella and R-Truth as winners, in Rousey vs Jax, we were sure that Rousey will retain, this triple threat battle, was the second match that evening (the first was Natalya vs. Ruby Riott's Table match), where all of the competitors were equally suitable to win, from creative's and partially from fans' perspective/point of view (I had the feeling that WWE Universe will be left with a drop of a bitter taste if Charlotte Flair had won).

The Participants:
Flair wasn't the only one who took risks. The champ tried to hit both of the challengers from the top of the ladder, but missed Asuka, who escaped.

The Champion had the WWE Universe behind her, as usual (Asuka had it too)! Becky Lynch - we had talked and talked about her long-long way to the second reign and how much she deserved it. For me:This match was her masterpiece for 2018! Her rivalry with Charlotte might be the greatest in SDL, even for the whole WWE, for 2018, but that match was the final chapter for 2018, even with the rematch coming. Lynch fought a lot of great matches at the end of the year - like the Last Woman Standing, at Evolution. All of them were tough and rough, but this one was the toughest and the roughest! At the end The Man still has the People's support...
Charlotte and her favorite weapon - the stick.

Athleticism and bravery - all in one Moonsault!

Charlotte Flair was the embodiment of perfection as always! Perfect athlete, unstoppable risk-taker and inventive competitor - all in one. From her traditional Moonsault to the outside to her Senton over Lynch, who was placed on a table , Charlotte was what she always is - top, though and determined wrestler. Even her insults during match like 'The Man bow down for the Queen!' was in place. If she had won that battle, she would score a well deserved total eight title reign. In the end of the match she had the WWE Universe behind her back as well. But, thinking creatively not giving her the title was the best decision and the foundation for expanding the possibilities related to SmackDown women's belt. Be sure, that we didn't hear the last from the Queen!
Earlier, after throwing Becky Lynch on the steel ladder, Asuka powerbombed Charlotte Flair though a table, as well.

Powerbomb through a table, a little bit botched, but whatever. Becky Lynch hit the ladder back-first. The Widl card in the match Asuka was the one to 'blame' for all of this actions and her laugh of confidence was priceless! The Empress capitalized at every opportunity and all of us remember that she had a really rough months since her arrival in WWE and SDL. She learned to lose and become more earthly oriented, character, she lost her NXT halo of an Undefeated Empress! Now she is great competitor, ready to step back and help the other women, it's not about her. And by losing she earned the needed respect of the authority, she growth and reached a new heights and finally she was ready, last Sunday to become a champ!...
Charlotte gave 101%! Senton from the top rope...

Ronda Rousey had the last laugh, getting her payback!

Forewords

But the question is: Did Asuka need Rousey's help to win? Another question: Did Rousey's interference devalidate and ruin Asuka's first title won? It depends how you will look at the end of the match. Asuka definitely deserves to end 2018 with a title reign. Her gold victory was long anticipated as Becky's second reign. Yeah, it's kind of shadowed by Rousey, but we know why Raw Women's Champion interfered and we can smell the consequences. That interference puts Asuka in a situation to face Lync and Flair again. Lynch will want rematch, Flair can argue that the end of the match wasn't fair for her, even for Lynch. We even have the possibility to see Ronda challenging Asuka, on the ground of her 'help' during the TLC match! Something like 'I made you a champ! You must thank me!'... So from creative's point of view Asuka's victory was totally valid and it opens the door for more storylines twists, from fans' point view: we can have a divided vote - 'She was aided, so her victory is not that great!' and 'No, her victory is valid, because she climbed the ladder and won! The other stuffs are not important!'.
Finally Champion! But is it clear victory?
