Former Knockouts Champion. With dangerous, stunning finisher. Charismatic and athletic!
Mia Yim a.k.a. Jade (in Impact Wrestling) is someone who has worked all of her life to be recognized as one of the best female wrestlers. Her emotional, psychological, and physical devotion to the sports-entertainment, can't be neglected with ease.
One of the major reasons WWE not to sign her immediately is her "coming out" as a victim of domestic violence. You know that WWE didn't get well with that topic (Debra vs. Stone Cold case). The company is desperately trying to erase their Attitude Era on-screen violence against women, so they don't want to deal with any kind of scandals of this type, backstage. It's not normal, but it's a part of our world. You can't expect the things to be100% civil in a company promoting a simulation of violence and you have waves of adrenaline, testosterone, and estrogen flooding the ring and the locker rooms. But to punish the victims for their suffering, doesn't speak well, too.
If WWE swallows a few patriarchal views about the topic, they can have another try with Yim. NXT will be a good opportunity for her. Some training and well-scripted rivalries will turn this amazing talent into a pure diamond, in the crown of WWE. Out of her personal struggles, Yim is really talented and well known and she will be a good addition to Ember Moon, Ruby Riot, Sarah Bridges (a.k.a. Sarah Logan), Kimberly Frankele (a.k.a. Kimber Lee), Nikki Cross, and Asuka.
I respect her and enjoy her style. I was sort of skeptical about her participation in the Dollhouse storyline, but she did it well. In the age of women's wrestling revolution, worldwide, Mia can be a tool of a total establishment of it, next to other former and current indie women. WWE loves to discover and build new talents from zero, but it's OK to have and people who dedicated their lives and sacrifice a lot to get involved in that business. They deserve attention and opportunity. Many of them deserve to be back in WWE because now is the right time. Many like Mia, deserve a real chance to work at full capacity in WWE NXT and the main roster.
So, come on! Give it a good try this time WWE.
