We left the best for dessert!
Melina, Gail Kim, Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Eve, Lay-Cool... were several of the names who bring a lot of nostalgia and were supposed to keep the WWE Divas/Women's division alive. Kim and Melina were friends, now they are cited as two of the best in the world.
Actually, there are at least, three reasons that we can cite as enough to bring Melina back in WWE.
1. They need her!
WWE's wave of nostalgia and amazing, iconic Superstars returns opened the door for more Legends to return. The way that the former Attitude and Modern eras wrestler work with today's generation is really amazing. It's like they know each other for years.
Melina had faced women from several generations - from Trish Stratus to Kelly Kelly. This (r)Evolution breed of female Superstars is even better. Melina is someone who loves challenges and the new women like Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte, Paige, Emma, Becky, Alexa, and Nia Jax are kind of a great challenge. Melina can work well with NXT's women's locker room too.
WWE will have good use of another active veteran, next to Mickie James, who to balanced the division and raise the bar even higher. Melina is well recognized and there was no day, passing by, without WWE Universe remind itself about her. So WWE needs to put more effort and to bring her back home.
2. Mickie James
Why just one more match? Why not the whole rivalry, revived and set in RAW. Like Melina teaming with Alexa against Mickie James and Bayley. Or just the good one-on-one battles between these two.
Melina respects James, so much. They kind of grew up together in WWE. Their career started almost simultaneously. Both of them faced the best of the best and one another. So, it will be nice to see them both working again on the biggest stage for pro-wrestling in the world - WWE.
3. She needs it! We need her!
Melina loves challenges. After a hiatus from the wrestling scene, she returned and throw herself into action in the indies. Currently, she is a main women's division titleholder in two promotions! She faced a lot of the rising female Superstars and many of the legends in the independent circuit.
But the biggest challenge right now is in WWE. We have an All-women Tournament coming. We have several of the best former indie workers, signed in there as we can start to count them from Asuka to Paige. WWE is different from the time when the women were set to do a 5 minutes match, often undressed. Today's WWE women's division is far more competitive and evolve.
There lays a real challenge.
It's a big challenge because Melina will have to challenge her skills and to blend with a totally new kind of real female competitors. Now she will receive double respect, double fight, great promos.
The fans need her too. As I mentioned before, some of us didn't forget her for a minute, her legacy is still alive in our hearts and memories. And we are still sure that she can add more to it!
