This week we saw the defense of the KO title by Tessa Blanchard!
Don't get fooled - I respect and love Su Ying's the Grudge gimmick type of the Undead Brde, but I really didn't want to see her win (not like that ever happened, eh?). So I am cheering for Blanchard despite her villainous persona. The match was really good, 'top indie quality'!
Actually the idea of having two heels fighting for the top prize is kind of fresh! Not new! Fresh! Kind of sportsmanship but in a negative way... More like measuring which Evil is Greater then the other! I am NOT against that kind of matches. No, for me they are turning back to the sports element in wrestling where everyone can meet anyone in the locker room! The storylines are good thing, part of the foundation, but the competition element, especially in that type matches is interesting and the fans always pick a side! They often choose the lesser Evil, the more charismatic or the best wrestler!
Despite not winning the match, Su Yung could be called the Greater Evil of the week, as she and her undead brides' army almost put Tessa Blanchard to 'rest in peace' in a coffin! It was a really surprising allies appearance that save the champ from kiss the grave!
Allie with Kiera Hogan!
Both ladies were antagonized, even humiliated by Blanchard in the past so their run-in for the save is really interesting turn of events. It seems like both of them dislike the former-Undead champ, more than the current one. But we know that Allies motivation is ONE! She has her ONE, PRIME GOAL - to get that TITLE BACK! Hogan's interference is more curious as motivation: Is it only helping and hanging aroud with her best buddy (Allie, of course) or secretly wanting to get involved in title picture?! Imagine it Allie vs. Kiera Hogan vs. Tessa Blanchard (c), a title match created as a 'award for helping the Champ', eventually ruined by Su Yung and the Brides! Of course the Champ reaction of ungratefulness is giving us more 'food for the inspiration' on how this storyline might evolve!
Mmm, smells delicious!
We'll sit and watch closely, what will happen! These days Impact really has a great KO show for us!
