IMPACT WRESTLING'S KO CHAMPION DEONNA PURRAZZO WILL FACE THE LIVING LEGEND MELINA AT NWA EMPOWERRR

The waves that Melina caused with her appearance on Impact Wrestling a couple of weeks ago can be compared to a huge tsunami!

We have always wanted to see her return on TV with any of the main promotions like AEW or Impact, even WWE... but she was devoted to her career in NWA and helping them build a strong women's division. Now Melina is making her way to Impact Wrestling and despite not knowing if she has an open contract with once second best, one thing is clear - she will face Deonna Purrazzo who is the current Knockouts Champion in her second reign with the title!

It's another epic clash of the generations and ... between former WWE Superstars, as the difference is that Purrazzo was very underused and underrated while she was in WWE NXT, while Melina is a Legend for WWE Universe! Well, Deonna's career is flourishing in Impact Wrestling and now it's time for another milestone for her - meeting a Legend.

Deonna Purrazzo was one of the leading forces in the ROH's Women of Wrestling establishment and development. Known as Virtuosa she was constantly booked as a guest appearance on NXT and Impact during the years, as well, she builds her legacy on the women's wrestling independent scene as well. After a short run with NXT where she was misused and underappreciated Deonna was able to turn her career upside-down when she came to Impact! and defeated then champion Jordynne Grace. After losing the belt to Su Yung,  at Bound For Glory 2020, the Virtuosa was sent to regain her belt on November 14th, at Turning Point. On August 5th, 2021 episode of Impact, Mickie James informed her that she will defend her title at NWA Empowerrr (an all-women show) against not whoever it is but the legendary Melina Perez!

Melina started her wrestling career in 2001. She had been signed with WWE from 2004 up to 2012 when she was shockingly released. She won WWE Women's Championship three times and then WWE Divas Championship twice. Her career was marked with stunning feuds against Trish Stratus, Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Maria Kanellis, Gail Kim, and many others. Her legacy is the one that paved much of the way for today's women in WWE. She is an all-time fan favorite icon and she is recognized as one of the best in the world.

Now, these two respected and famous talents who had accomplished a lot will face the coveted Impact Wrestling Knockout Championship on August 28, 2021, at NWA's first all women's PPV show Empowerrr (produced by Mickie James), which will present many NWA, AEW, indie, and Impact talents! You can watch it via subscription on FITE!
