What can I say?
People might be excited about The Man's return, but as someone who loves to observe the whole picture, I am unable to feel the same way. The weekend ends with two of my predictions - correct, and one of them totally twisted because the match didn't happen and the other one... well, WWE creatives are bowing down for the Queen's streaks! The biggest disappointment was the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship!
Okay, this is one of the predictions I nailed! Luckily, my bad feeling that Eva will cheat didn't get justification and Doudrop was just an observer outside the ring who didn't interfere.
Actually, seeing Eva Marie throwing some punches was a nice difference, but it wasn't about her... hm, controversial wrestling abilities. Well, Alexa Bliss... the dark, demonic like Alexa Bliss with Lilly is still someone who can't be taken out with ease. So her victory wasn't a surprise and the best of this match.
For me, the best part came after the match when Doudrop mocked Eva Marie and left the arena with Marie's robe walking like a caricature of a cheap model. Sadly, backstage there were negotiations starting, and do you know what I don't want that agony to continue more than a month or two! I really want to see Piper Niven/Doudrop where she belongs - shining as a winner in the center of the ring and why not after a victory towards her "mentor" at PPV! She deserves it!
CHARLOTTE FLAIR defeated RHEA RIPLEY AND NIKKI A.S.H.
to become the new WWE RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPION
At least there was a match and Nikki A.S.H. wasn't been pined under second!
Well, the annoying reasoning for that match's ending is flatter than the flat Earth! The Queen hasn't lost a match at SummerSlam and since they didn't book her at WrestleMania, to spare us some boredom, the creatives, etc. folks decided to give her a SummerSlam victory and the opportunity to keep her streak for the PPV. So obvious and yet another two victims!
The match was intensive. Nikki did a lot of counters. Rhea Ripley displayed strength. The match was dynamic and good. In the end, there was Figure Eight and here we are in the status quo from a couple of years ago - Charlotte Flair is on the top of Raw and Becky Lynch topped the SmackDown women's division!
Another age of boredom! Why I am calling it this way - because some of us remember how all one and the same it was. I just want to see more new faces, fresh faces getting the serious recognition that they deserve.
BECKY LYNCH defeated BIANCA BELAIR
to become the new WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN'S CHAMPION
My problem with the whole thing is that: You have someone who missed for over a year and comes down to the ring after an expected match was already ruined, as The Boss didn't appear and defeated someone, who had worked so hard to be where she was. For me, that was a mockery of the whole career up to the moment of Bianca. It was way too easy to bring her back post-match!
But NOOOO! They needed to remind me that life and WWE are not always fair and people who had worked hard without a break, will easily be spat on! It was a twisted way to save the day... And now what? We'll have another Becky vs. Sasha, Becky vs. Charlotte, Becky vs. Bayley, and all the same.
Whatever!
