This Sunday WWE's Red Brand will compete against the successful SDL's first PPV, Backlash. As specialized in WWE women's division action , we from AWOW are very excited to see two matches in the Card. One in the Kickoff, and one high-staked Title match.
NIA JAX VS. ALICIA FOX (KICKOFF MATCH): WHO WILL SURVIVE?
We are so excited about this one.
I know, I know. You may say "Why? You have an Amazing Title match in the Main Card!". Because I love to see something new.
Nia Jax vs. Alicia Fox is more than a short rivalry started with OMG!-barricade crashing moment. It's a battle between the Old Era vs. The New Era. The Veteran vs. NXT Rookie! (it's hard to call Nia a rookie, but she is, next to Foxy).
Alicia Fox had been through a lot of great battles. She is one of the "surviving members" of one generation of "Divas", who competed in a transitional period - Melina, Mickie James, Lay-Cool, Eve Torres and etc.. Period who prepared WWE for this so-called revolution. For me, The Revolution had been started when Lita and Trish Stratus, and their generation of Divas, was signed in then WWF!
Today we are witnessing a new stage of that slow process (with a lot of ups and downs) and Nia and Alicia are two women from different stages of it. To see two generations fighting each other is always a promising competition.
Back on Foxy. Alicia Fox proved herself many times. She showed that she is amazing competitor, charismatic person and not afraid of any challenge. This match is not the best, at this point. If you didn't noticed, WWE use Alicia as a stepping stone, for the other talents. Foxy helped Paige, years ago, now it is time to help Nia, to establish her character and to have some kickoff in her career. Alicia Fox is good enough to do that. Nia Jax needs that vital dose of real challenge.
Nia Jax is still green. No matter what epic matches she had in NXT. She is still not a fully integrated member of RAW. This match is more important for her, than to Alicia. Nia needs to secure her position of a dominant woman. She needs some real WWE competition against her fellow Superstars. That chain of squash matches, had its limits and it was reached. Jax deserves a higher level competition and luckily she would face it in the face of Alicia Fox, this Sunday.
I hope to see good and full of twists match. It's possible, because we have two really talented women, with a different wrestling styles, who are capable of it.
