With a card dominated by women's matches, NXT set the tone for what is rumored to be a historically women's wrestling-driven WrestleMania 42!
Blake Monroe def. Jaida Parker — Street Fight
Expected, but exciting to watch! This is the turning point that makes everyone look at Blake Monroe as a serious NXT and WWE prospect — after months of controversial booking, she finally gets her definitive moment. That match was brilliant, and it completely changed my perspective on Monroe.
Finally!
Of course, Parker being used to fuel Blake's momentum is a bittersweet moment — but in wrestling, elevating others (especially other women) is no less noble and impactful than it is in real life. I'm not worried one bit about Miss Parker. She has proven time and time again that she can accomplish great things, inside or outside of WWE.
Meanwhile, in the light of Jade Cargill's controversy, I can say that Blake Monroe taking the long road to the main roster — choosing to learn, to train, and to truly understand WWE through NXT — is one of the best decisions she and creative have made together. That's a huge mark in her favor, alongside a career that began with her 2019 UK independent debut (against Nina Samuels), continued across Europe and the USA, and stretched all the way to Japan (World Wonder Ring Stardom).
The match with Jaida Parker is the game-changer for Monroe. From here, we can expect to see her chasing bigger opportunities — and why not a Royal Rumble debut and a WrestleMania moment in the next few years? Winning a Street Fight after going through a table is one heck of a start.
Another well-deserved win — and a new chapter, or maybe the conclusion, of their rivalry (we'll see). Tatum Paxley added the NXT Women's North American title to her list of accomplishments last night, overcoming her former friend and champion, Izzi Dame.
The Culling cost Paxley her NXT Women's Championship a few months ago, after months of pretending to care about her. Dame winning the North American gold drew a clear lane for this collision. And looking at the whole arc now, the booking is actually a subtle nod to Tatum's love of collecting titles and chasing down ex-friends who hold them — like Lyra Valkyria before. I'm not sure if they'll lean back into that layer of her character, but it's a nice detail to appreciate.
As a champion, Izzi Dame as a character was never as compelling as she was as a traitor and backstabber, honestly. She wasn't particularly attention-grabbing before her path crossed with Paxley, who built something genuinely fascinating — a little unhinged, unpredictable, and deeply watchable. Tatum even elevated Dame in this title match by pushing her to the absolute limit. I'll be real: I was more invested in Blake Monroe's storyline than in Izzi's title reign, and ending it here feels like the right call. Dame needs to keep evolving within The Culling — because if her stablemates get called up to the main roster before she's distinguished herself, she risks being left behind. My read on her is that, in the crowded WWE and NXT locker room, she might actually find more room to grow outside the company. For now, the best thing she can do is use every day there to get better.
So — a new Tatum Paxley walked into that ring. The better version she was always supposed to be. She had every chance to win, but with a different approach and a different skill set than her opponent. Where Izzi Dame is physically dominant and calculating, Tatum Paxley is the queen of mind games, inside and outside the ring. Her unpredictable, unstable persona is impossible to gameplan for, and combined with her in-ring instinct to capitalize on every mistake, it compensates for the physical differences and gives her the element of surprise.
Tatum capitalized and got her retribution. I really hope they don't book her as a transitional champion. Let's not forget: she is only the second woman to have held both the NXT Women's title AND the North American belt — next to the incomparable Stephanie Vaquer! Paxley absolutely deserves a long reign, filled with challenging title defenses.
Lola Vice def. Kelani Jordan
— NXT Underground Match
It's genuinely hard when two of your favorites clash in a high-stakes match.
Lola Vice — undefeated in the Underground, a decorated combat athlete with a 4-1 MMA record in Bellator, a 4th-degree Taekwondo black belt, 2023 NXT Women's Breakout Tournament winner, and a performer of explosive charisma and instinctive ring psychology — versus Kelani Jordan, ultra-athletic, ultra-talented, and freshly discovering her heel side. This kind of match has its own specific aura. The dimmed lights, the primal win conditions (TKO or submission), the roaring crowd surrounding the ring — it's Fight Club, it's MMA, it's a blood sport tribute wrapped in wrestling. Lola's family in the audience raised the stakes even higher: this wasn't just rivalry, it was a fight for honor and domination.
After dramatic back-and-forth action — with Jordan ruthlessly targeting Vice's already-fractured hand — and despite Jordan's (over)confidence, Lola came out on top, keeping her perfect Underground streak alive after the referee called the match. The shoot wrestling element here truly set the stage for something special. Despite my love for Kelani, I'm genuinely happy with Lola's victory and her continued push in both NXT and AAA.
On the NXT Women's Title picture:
Some people may have asked why there was no NXT Women's Championship match at Vengeance Day. Well, with two challengers, Zaria and Sol Ruca, failing to win in consecutive weeks (and costing each other in the process), it was clear there was no single determined #1 contender ready for the PPV. And why book Zaria vs. Sol Ruca without more fuel behind it? That rivalry needed more time, more heat — and it needed the Women's title as the crown jewel. So we got a logical Triple Threat, and I'm really hoping Sol Ruca walks out with the belt, then drops it to Zaria at Stand and Deliver before heading to the main roster. That's the best scenario for everyone.
Vengeance Day either concluded or simply delayed some rivalries, crowned a new champion, and paved the road to Stand and Deliver for both Sol Ruca and Zaria. Meanwhile, the new NXT Women's North American Champion Tatum Paxley is going to have all eyes on her — fans and challengers alike. I cannot wait to see what's next for Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice. Overall, this was a really good show — with a women's wrestling takeover that, honestly, nobody should have been surprised by. And that's a wonderful thing.

Es genuinamente difícil cuando dos de tus favoritas se enfrentan en un combate de alto riesgo.

El elemento de lucha libre real aquí realmente preparó el escenario para algo especial. A pesar de mi cariño por Kelani, estoy genuinamente feliz con la victoria de Lola y con su continuo impulso en NXT y AAA.
El panorama del Campeonato Femenino de NXT:
Algunos se habrán preguntado por qué no hubo combate por el Campeonato Femenino de NXT en Vengeance Day. Pues bien — con dos aspirantes, Zaria y Sol Ruca, perdiendo semanas consecutivas (y costándose mutuamente), quedaba claro que no había una contendiente clara y determinada para el PPV. ¿Y por qué hacer Zaria vs. Sol Ruca sin más combustible? Esa rivalidad necesitaba más tiempo, más intensidad — y necesitaba el Campeonato Femenino como corona. Así que tenemos un Triple Threat lógico, y espero genuinamente que Sol Ruca se lleve el cinturón, para luego perderlo ante Zaria en Stand and Deliver antes de ser llamada al roster principal. Ese es el mejor escenario para todas.
Vengeance Day cerró o simplemente pospuso algunas rivalidades, coronó a una nueva campeona, y trazó el camino a Stand and Deliver para Sol Ruca y Zaria. Mientras tanto, la nueva Campeona Norteamericana Femenina de NXT Tatum Paxley va a tener todos los ojos encima — fans y rivales por igual. No puedo esperar para ver qué sigue para Kelani Jordan y Lola Vice. En general, fue un show muy bueno — con una toma del control de la lucha libre femenina que, honestamente, nadie debería haberse sorprendido. Y eso es algo maravilloso.
