Another week, with post-PPV consequences and pre-PPV tie ups!
This week in WWE was kind of 'calm-down' usual, match working week, with some segments and some promises for the future. I think that the whole WWE Universe is concentrate on Asuka's debut and the eventual SDL return of Paige. Mostly at Asuka's debut.
We had some news from the Black and Yellow brand: A fatal-4-way will decide the destiny of the NXT Women's title. Three others Superstars from the NXT roster will face Kairi Sane at NXT Takeover:Houston.
'THE OLD LADY' JOKE
I remember the days when Mickie James was Trish Stratus obsessed fan and their amazing match at WrestleMania 22, where Mickie won her first belt! I remember James' rivalries with Lita, Melina, Beth Phoenix and Lay-Cool. All of this is instant classic!
These days Mickie's presence in WWE is like surreal, fiction! It's so nice to have her back, but at the same time it looks like "time breakdown". Her matches with Emma are really good and the renewed rivalry between her and Alexa Bliss is looking good. But I still think that she needs someone like Melina, to get a real work done. Because Mickie is a product of an old age, where there was no WWE PC, there was OVW! This difference between her and the newest Superstars is kind of visible - in style, in work in the ring!
Alexa did her promo as she did it always - Perfect 10! Her insults, camouflaged like a show of respect, were really good and Mickie's response was perfect too. So obviously, Bliss had an old-new foe, who will contend for the belt, but until next week RAW, we will know nothing, special.
For now it looks like this is the direction where the things go.
EMMA & NIA JAX VS. SASHA BANKS AND BAYLEY
... SOMETHING LIKE A NO MERCY REMATCH
The team of Emma and Nia Jax is one of the most unusual and kind of dysfunctional teams in WWE's history, but we like to watch it. We are having two strong individualists, heels trying to steal victory for well bonded faces.
The drama here was before the match when Sasha and Bayley discussed their match at No Mercy. 'You know! It was every woman for herself, friend! Don't be mad at me'-stuff!
So both teams worked well. Of course the team of Jax and Emma kept us on the top of our nails, all of the time. The match was overall nice, classic tag team with the usual twists and team fight over Nia Jax. At the end Bayley made another statement for her intentions to re-enter the title picture, again, with amazing Belly-to-Bayley suplex on Emma, for the victory!
But all the heat related to RAW women's division is about Asuka's debut! It's the major topic!
CHARLOTTE FLAIR VS. CARMELLA
...DON'T MESS WITH THE QUEEN!
While Lana is planing to dyeing Tamina's hair blond. other women had a real, well worked match this week.
Carmella and Charlotte Flair had a real hard clash, with some Miss Money in the Bank domination over the #1 Contender. The match was the typical SDL high quality technical battle, with some Ellsworth factor in it, that helped the Princess of Staten Island to get some advantage on her more athletic foe.
At the end Charlotte prove that she is in the title picture for reason! She won with a huge Big boot in Carmella's face. The Champ emerged of course to bring some war of words to the ring. Overall I think that the match between Natlya and Charlotte will be interesting with the X-Factor- Carmella around the ring!
We will discuss this later, but I want to mention it here - Paige debut in SDL, may mean a title reign for the Superstar of Tomorrow. So if she really debut in the Blue brand, the whole division will be shaken-off!
This week, some of us in AWOW, had a real feast in NXT!
LIV MORGAN VS. VANESSA BORNE
...BATTLE FOR IMPRESSION!
Yes, two of our favorite NXT Superstars collided in a really nice battle.
We have always love Liv Morgan innovatory and hunger for new moves. To watch this young passionate woman in the ring is a real pleasure and now with the top prize for the NXT women's division vacated, Morgan is one of the most serious contenders. And we love it!
Vanessa...
Borne...
I don't know what is about her! Every time when I see her I am happy, to watch this amazing curly hair messing around with the big girls of NXT! I think that one day, if the booking is good, she will be one of the Big Girls in there! Now she had her Mae Young Classic kick-start...despite her lose, she wrestled really good.
Of course Morgan was put over Borne. Not that she didn't deserve it! Noooo, Liv is a veteran in NXT and she deserved that victory and that TV time invested in her, so did Vanessa! I think that this match was simple presentation of nice classic wrestling, intensive and with some drama in it. Morgan and Borne were really good, working together and we can't wait to see more from both of them. #AddVanessaBiancaAndLaceyToTheNXTRoster
The biggest question is: who will be the other three women who will face Kairi Sane? We have two suggestions, according to some info. But we will not spoil it for you! Not yet!
Maybe one of them is Blond and the other is Wild and raised in the forest, or maybe we are lying to you?
We'll wait and we'll see, because the qualifying matches are coming and they are going to be a really good, three matches with some surprises!
Who is the fourth and last name? - this question is bothering us!
