From Good to Best: Breaking Down Every Women's Match at WrestleMania 42
Well, things settled and got into the place where they were at the beginning!
I will present the result/consequences analysis/article in the same format as I did with the preview. From not the best to the best match for me. Do I need to underline that all women's matches were great? Some more other less... I don't know! I had that haunting feeling that the Fatal-4-way tag team match and the WWE Women's Championship match were somehow rushed. But overall, what do we have here:
- All titles on the line changed their owners.
- The Bella Twins with Paige and Rhea Ripley won, as I wanted to.
- Morgan and Cargill used the same tactic - outside interferences, but with different success.
- All of the heel challengers and the champion played dirty, and some of them won as a result of that.
#4. THE WOMEN'S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
I confess! I really let my limitless admiration for Paige — Saraya-Jade Bevis — take over both my perception and my analytical mind. As much as I love the result of this match, I can say it completely affirmed the spot it had on the card.
It was a typical multi-team chaos battle with a Tower of Doom (courtesy of Lash Legend), a crutch shot from Nikki Bella from the outside, and the moment everyone was waiting for — Paige stealing the show and winning it for the Bellas. A quick note on the setup: Nikki Bella wasn't cleared to compete due to injury, so it was Brie who called in Paige as her partner, the ultimate surprise of Night One. And what a moment it was.
The match wasn't Main Event material, but it was great for exactly where it sat on the card.
There were some strange botches — like Valkyria's top rope jump at the beginning — and a few visible flaws. But overall, every woman involved did her best to set the ending in motion. And Alexa Bliss' sacrifice — setting up the moment that put returning Paige's triumph in motion — is not to be overlooked. That's a high level of professionalism and genuine creativity.
It's not my top match in the end, but it was exactly what it needed to be.
What I'm more worried about is the aftermath. I sincerely hope WWE's creative team won't rush Paige and the Bellas into a rivalry — if you look closely, they're all heels. Paige returned to WWE and is already operating in that space. So I really hope to see these three women reigning and defending under the Freebird Rule — every member of the stable defending the titles. That sets the stage for a future rivalry where the drama writes itself — imagine one of the Bellas costing them the titles, and Paige turning on them.
Can't wait to see them on Raw tonight!
This match was another great example of one established legend elevating another who is well on her way to becoming one herself.
Becky Lynch's third reign as Women's Intercontinental Champion started exactly as expected — with dirty tactics and a cleverly laid trap. Lynch exposed the turnbuckle, used referee Jessika Carr as a shield, and when Lee came charging in, Lynch yanked her face-first into the exposed steel, followed by a Manhandle Slam for the pin. Sneaky, calculated, and very on-brand for The Man.
The match itself was genuinely technical, as expected from these two. But the real dramatic tension wasn't between AJ Lee and Becky Lynch — it was between Lynch and referee Jessika Carr. Honestly? Their brewing rivalry draws more anticipation from me than the Lee vs. Lynch feud itself. We know Carr is a trained wrestler — she competed in WWE Evolve and was known as Kennadi Brink on the indie circuit, part of Shine's roster. So this is not someone who has been training for a few months. Jessika is a professional. And yet WWE will present her as an underdog stepping out of her lane — nothing new, but I'm here for it if they commit.
Of course, I'm curious what's next for AJ. Maybe she aligns with someone on Raw and chases the tag team gold, or goes after Liv Morgan's Women's World Championship. Personally, I want to see Lee in a rivalry with The Judgment Day — maybe aligning with Bayley and Lyra in the process. But the match I most want to see her in? Against Roxanne Perez, for the exact same title. The logical path to Morgan vs. Lee is very much there, but I really need to see The Prodigy reclaim her place and her name, too.
The ending was the right decision for these two at this moment. Becky can go on irritating the midcard and having in-ring mischief with faces and heels alike — Nattie, Dupree, you name it — while AJ dares to chase other opportunities and continues elevating future Legends. We're being dragged into another cycle of The Man's IC title reign, complete with a parody of well-known Presidential speeches and tweets. And somehow, that is exactly the energy this division needed right now.
To expect Raquel Rodriguez to turn on Liv Morgan was naïve, wishful thinking! A fan dreaming! Naaah! It sounds completely absurd in light of what actually happened at WM 42. And yet I really wished for it...
But seriously — the big dilemma, the discussion-provoking question here is: Was Liv Morgan capable of defeating Stephanie Vaquer alone? How solid is this win?
We need to acknowledge that The Judgment Day girls — Roxanne and Raquel — weren't able to cause that much serious damage. Vaquer, even outnumbered, was able to neutralize them to a degree — escaping one pin attempt after the first Oblivion. The whole interference narrative was expected, but what stood out was that Vaquer handled it with strength and resilience. The technical side of the match? Nothing to criticize. Both Vaquer and Morgan told the story of their rivalry through their moves and holds — exactly the kind of in-ring storytelling you want from a championship match.
What I want to highlight is Liv Morgan's look going into this match — the head wound barely covered, the bruises and marks on full display, the raw facial expression as Vaquer made her entrance. This young woman is an ultra-talent who has genuinely earned her spot, and the interference didn't ruin anything for me. Liv is the heel you love to hate, and sometimes even cheer. I think she solidified that layer of her wrestling persona at WrestleMania, and personally, I'm satisfied. I'm not interested in arguing how "valid" the booking was.
I don't worry about Stephanie Vaquer. I'm curious what comes next for her — some gold, maybe a move to SmackDown, a rivalry with Giulia. She's going to be fine.
But right now, I want to see the slow decay and eventual fracture of The Judgment Day. And I don't mind if it takes time — slow burns are better anyway. There are tiny, tense things that have been building since the Royal Rumble. When Morgan, let's be honest, betrayed Rodriguez. The chemistry and the cracks have been vibrating around them for months, and they got louder after they beat down Finn Balor. Roxanne Perez needs to be the one who breaks the dam. I don't like how everything she built in NXT has been blurred and scaled down on Raw. She and Raquel need to shatter The Judgment Day's women's circle and go after Morgan. I want to see Roxanne as WWE Women's World Champion, ending Morgan's reign — accidentally, intentionally, I genuinely don't care. Just make it happen.
What was that on Cargill's face going in? Was she paying tribute to Jillian Hall's infamous "blemish of the soul" gimmick — the one the Boogeyman bit off? Just asking.
Now, seriously.
Why did I pick the match that felt a little rushed as my #1?
Several factors led to this controversial call. First — I'm genuinely glad Rhea Ripley won. Second — I'm happy that IYO SKY was there to even the odds, and that their story together continues. Third — despite the surprisingly quick resolution, there's one feeling that won't leave me: this is not the end. It's the beginning.
I want to be clear: this match was not Rhea's best WrestleMania performance. It wasn't her battle against Charlotte Flair. It wasn't her Triple Threat against IYO and Bianca Belair at the previous Show of Shows — and congratulations to Bianca, by the way, who returned at WM 42 to announce she's expecting, on her way to becoming another great WWE mom. This match had a different energy — tighter, more constrained. For someone with such an enormous ego as a character, Jade Cargill wasn't that shiny, despite that stunning attire. In contrast, Rhea sold everything perfectly, did her job brilliantly, and compensated for Cargill's visible stiffness at times. The counter into the Riptide out of 'Jaded' was a standout moment.
I love how IYO SKY's Asai Moonsault neutralized Michin and B-Fab's interference exactly when it needed to.
And the moral of this story? After a series of sneaky attempts to be destroyed by the champion and her crew, the Eradicator came out strong, resilient, and victorious. Having IYO by her side was genuinely touching — and it reminded me of how alone Vaquer was against The Judgment Day on Night One. That parallel was quietly excellent storytelling that compensated for the match's brevity and the limited in-ring spectacle. Except for Ripley's counters, the wrestling wasn't particularly memorable. But the emotional weight was. And that's why it's #1 — not perfect, but more emotionally layered and narratively rich than the rest.
Also, these two women had to carry the only women's match on Night Two, sharing a card with CM Punk and Roman Reigns and the rest of the men's showcase. The hidden meaning of that booking feels like a statement: these two women are as compelling, as strong, and as WrestleMania-worthy as anyone else on that card. It was recognition. And at the same time, a shrunken moment that deserved more time and more room to breathe.
As I said, this is not the end for any of these women. Cargill will drag Michin and B-Fab further into the spotlight as her proteges. Eventually, we'll likely see IYO SKY move to SmackDown — or have one final confrontation with Asuka on Raw, which is also a very real possibility. As for Rhea's reign — it's already under threat from Cargill's rematch clause, but names like Tiffany Stratton, Giulia, and even Chelsea Green are circling on the blue brand.
All four women's matches at WrestleMania 42 carried this strange halo — they were booked, they were historic in the context of the two-night format, and yet the level of competition, the resolution of these rivalries (most built in the three months between Royal Rumble and WM), the technicalities, the drama — all of it landed at a very close tier of quality when I stop and actually think about it. Highs, struggles to shine, moments of repetitiveness. It makes it genuinely hard to pick a true top match.
My "ranking" is conditional. I don't have one definitive favorite. They were equally important. And I do think a few of them were rushed — more a timing issue than a lack of skill.
WrestleMania is behind us. But its effect will be felt for months, with so many storylines launching from the Grandest Stage of Them All. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see some of them resolved at next year's edition.

WrestleMania 42 Resultados Femeninos: Todo Volvió al Inicio, Todo Está Comenzando

Tuve esa sensación persistente de que tanto el Fatal 4-Way por los Campeonatos Femeninos en Parejas como el combate por el Campeonato Mundial Femenino estuvieron de alguna manera apresurados. Pero en general, esto es lo que tenemos:
- Todos los títulos en juego cambiaron de manos.
- Brie Bella y Paige ganaron los títulos en parejas, tal y como yo quería.
- Morgan y Cargill usaron la misma táctica — interferencias externas — pero con resultados muy diferentes.
- Todas las retadoras heels y las campeonas jugaron sucio, y algunas ganaron precisamente por eso.
#4. EL COMBATE POR LOS CAMPEONATOS FEMENINOS EN PAREJAS
¡Lo confieso! Realmente dejé que mi ilimitada admiración por Paige — Saraya-Jade Bevis — tomara el control de mi percepción y mi mente analítica. Por mucho que me encante el resultado de este combate, puedo decir que confirmó completamente el lugar que ocupó en la cartelera.
Fue una batalla caótica multiequipo típica, con una Torre de la Muerte (a cargo de Lash Legend), un golpe de muleta de Nikki Bella desde fuera, y el momento que todos esperaban: Paige robándose el show y ganando los títulos junto a Brie. Paige regresó a WWE y ya está operando en ese espacio. Así que espero ver a estas tres mujeres reinando y defendiendo bajo la Regla Freebird — cada miembro del stable defendiendo los títulos. Este combate fue otro gran ejemplo de una leyenda establecida elevando a otra que está bien encaminada a convertirse en una ella misma.
El tercer reinado de Becky Lynch como Campeona Intercontinental Femenina comenzó exactamente como se esperaba — con trucos sucios y una trampa calculada. Lynch expuso el torniquete, usó a la árbitro Jessika Carr como escudo, y cuando Lee vino cargando, Lynch la estampó de cara contra el acero expuesto, seguido de un Manhandle Slam para el conteo. Astuto, calculado, y muy propio de The Man.

#2. EL COMBATE POR EL CAMPEONATO MUNDIAL FEMENINO WWE
¡Esperar que Raquel Rodriguez traicionara a Liv Morgan era pensar con deseos, soñar como fan! ¡Naaah! Suena completamente absurdo a la luz de lo que realmente ocurrió en WM 42. Y aun así lo deseé de verdad...
Pero en serio — el gran dilema, el elemento que provoca debate aquí es: ¿Hubiera sido Liv Morgan capaz de derrotar a Stephanie Vaquer sola? ¿Qué tan sólida es esta victoria?
Hay que reconocer que las chicas de The Judgment Day — Roxanne y Raquel — no pudieron causar tanto daño real. Vaquer, incluso siendo superada en número, pudo neutralizarlas en cierta medida — escapando de un intento de conteo tras el primer Oblivion. Creo que consolidó esa capa de su personaje en WrestleMania, y personalmente estoy satisfecha. No me interesa debatir qué tan "válido" fue el booking.
No me preocupa Stephanie Vaquer. Tengo curiosidad por lo que viene para ella — algo de oro, quizás un movimiento a SmackDown, una rivalidad con Giulia. Va a estar bien.
Pero ahora mismo quiero ver la lenta desintegración y fractura final de The Judgment Day. Y no me importa si toma tiempo — los fuegos lentos son mejores. ¿Por qué elegí como #1 el combate que se sintió algo apresurado?
Varios factores llevaron a esta decisión controvertida. Primero — me alegra genuinamente que Rhea Ripley haya ganado. Segundo — me alegra que IYO SKY estuviera ahí para equilibrar las fuerzas, y que su historia juntas continúe. Tercero — a pesar de la sorprendentemente rápida resolución, hay una sensación que no me abandona: esto no es el final. Es el comienzo.
Quiero ser clara: este no fue el mejor combate de WrestleMania de Rhea. No fue su batalla contra Charlotte Flair. Ese paralelo fue una narrativa silenciosamente excelente que compensó la brevedad del combate y el limitado espectáculo dentro del ring. Salvo los counters de Ripley, la lucha en sí no fue particularmente memorable. Pero el peso emocional sí lo fue. Y por eso es #1 — no perfecto, pero más emocionalmente rico y narrativamente complejo que el resto.
Además — estas dos mujeres tuvieron que sostener el único combate femenino de la Noche Dos, compartiendo cartelera con CM Punk, Roman Reigns y todo el espectáculo masculino. El significado oculto de ese booking se siente como una declaración: estas dos mujeres son tan convincentes, tan fuertes y tan dignas de WrestleMania como cualquier otra persona en esa cartelera. Fue un reconocimiento. Y al mismo tiempo, un momento comprimido que mereció más tiempo y más espacio para respirar.
Como dije, esto no es el final para ninguna de estas mujeres. Cargill arrastrará a Michin y B-Fab más hacia el centro del escenario como sus protegidas. Eventualmente, veremos a IYO SKY moverse a SmackDown — o tener un enfrentamiento final con Asuka en Raw, lo cual también es una posibilidad muy real. En cuanto al reinado de Rhea — ya está bajo amenaza por la cláusula de revancha de Cargill, pero nombres como Tiffany Stratton, Giulia e incluso Chelsea Green están rondando en la marca azul.

Mi "ranking" es condicional. No tengo una favorita definitiva. Fueron igualmente importantes. Y sí creo que algunos fueron apresurados — más un problema de tiempo que de falta de habilidad.
WrestleMania quedó atrás. Pero su efecto se sentirá durante meses, con tantas líneas argumentales que se lanzan desde el Escenario Más Grande de Todos. Quizás tengamos la suerte de ver algunas de ellas resueltas en la edición del próximo año.
