This week WWE served us the usual portion of main storyline, back-up storyline twist, rivalry turn in a surprising direction, some statements and NXT topped it all at the end!
The women's division eve, started with Bayley teaming with Sasha Banks to take on the duo of Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke...
The commentators tried to talk a lot about the team of the Hugger and the Boss and their chances to win, the match (no chance in hell according to Corey Graves).
I will start with how enjoying for me is to see Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke back in action, working a match on RAW. Both were great in their roles and performance.
Meanwhile the camera accented several time on Bank worried face preparing us for what is coming next. At the same time, Bayley did her usual really good technical, but usual as diversity of moves, work... Doesn't matter I love watching her in the ring! It's Bayley...
Finally we had Sasha earning a disqualification, giving up the win to Fox and Brooke in front of the stunned into the barricade Bayley and she left under her frenemy's gase, like nothing serious happened.
The match was short but nice! Bayley is in good shape, the Boss is knowing her role and Fox and Brooke served well as the victims. This was not about match at all it was the setting up for the upcoming segment. It was good showdown, but the match will be forgotten and will be written only in the statistics.
WINNERS: ALICIA FOX & DANA BROOKE via DQ
Later a post-match segment is showing us Bayley asking Sasha Banks again 'What is all about?' and finally received the answer: really shocking and unexpected 'I love you'!!! Wait what? lesbian or not the storyline takes a really diverse turn and I am curious how they will end up tearing each other at SummerSlam!
How the WWE RAW Creatives will make the twist? ... Maybe something like:
Bayley: Sasha, I'm sorry but I don't love you that way!
Sasha: Okay!!! (and jumping on Bayley with punches)...
If the angle is really lesbian, because they could love each other as a friends... We need more information!
What was supposed to be a Post-Championship Retain Celebration, for Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, turned into a little hell!
The segment was well done, in the typical Bliss in-ring perfection (because sometimes, her backstage segments sucks, but most of her in-ring angles are perfect). Bliss did her usual thing insulting everyone and just when she started to throw s#@^ts on Ronda Rousey's position in the Raw Lockers, the Dangerous woman on Earth made her entrance and chased out the two heels, cutting off their way to backstage and first take out James... then when it looked like Bliss is escaping the rage of Rousey, Ronda pull the Champ back in the ring and locked armbar.
Rousey's week expanded suspension will make the fans more hungry! The booked (well expected ) title match for SummerSlam will make the starvation for the battle of these two, even bigger! We expected that twist, now we'll waiting for where all the things will go and how will the Bliss' 'strongest muscle' - her brain will work, to eliminate Rousey or just trying to do it!
A lot of controversy followed the match between Sarah Logan and Ember Moon! (Liv Morgan was there as well and played vital role.)
First: Before you start throwing bullshits at someone, ask a question: Who is Sarah Logan? She is a professional wrestler with 5 years experience, before WWE and if you have something to say about how she is wrestle, first become wrestler yourself. It's not fine to judge her about her gimmick! And what the hell is the problem with the Kentucky girl raised in a farm turned viking so she could face a War Goddess? You forgot her match against Mia Yim at MYC which was one of the greatest and sort of a main even for the episode it was broadcasted. You forget that she worked in NXT and before NXT she had some presence with the company! She appeared in shows of ICW, SHIMMER, SHINE, etc. She is not bad than Ruby Riott or Ember Moon and i hope to see her well booked in the future!
Second: The match was really good and I don't think that so-called new girls can't work with each other (as one media commented). These girls are product of NXT and WWE PC. Morgan and Moon had their path in the yellow and black brand, that was really good and lead them to WWE main roster! Sarah was the hidden gem, because this girl really knows how to throw moves. The Ember Moon's loss, after week of defeating Morgan, was a nice turn and it came after a serious fight!
Third: I'll be glad to see more from these three and can't hardly wait to see Ruby Riott returning and involvement!
WINNER: SARAH LOGAN
Becky Lynch is on the roll and she doesn't need a Money In the Bank briefcase to start breathing in the champ's neck! With another victory, she is even closer to the title match than ever!
The Irish Lass Kicker faced her usual nemesis Mandy Rose in another battle for impression! Deville was outside the ring, but she wasn't that helpful like Liv Morgan on RAW. The match was the SDL standard for a technical fight. Rose is developing really quickly and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.
Lynch was in her usual Straight Fire mode and win the match in a usual manner - dis-arming her foe! Becky is great... and these days she is unstoppable, that's why her statement post-match sounds even more serious than ever and Carmella should watch out!
Becky is coming for her!!!
NXT's episode started with women's match!
Dakota Kai tried to shut Lacey Evans...
Kai is amazing, rocket, dynamic and so vivid young talent. Stunning kid! I really enjoy watching her and I think that she is one of the best MYC 2017 investment for WWE, that paid off. I can only praise that girl devotion and dedication, her technique and courage!
On the other hand - Evans is really, really good heel and athletic wrestler. She works really well with every possible face character, with whom she is booked to play. Her loss to Candice LeRae made her even vicious.
The match ended with Women's Right from Evans out of nowhere, after Kai's decapitating series of trademark kicks in the corner! These two made a really good preview of a one-on-one match and I am not sorry for the ending because I know that Kai will have her moment to come out on top. It's just a heat.
WINNER: LACEY EVANS
NXT did their magic again! Make a 15 min. match looking like 30 min. just because there was so much action and turns, and dynamic, and OMG moments! We had three of the most talented women on the roster - Nikki Cross, Candice LeRae and Kairi Sane, battleing for another opportunity to become NXT Women's Champion in front of the current one Shayna Baszler
As much as I wanted to see someone new like LeRae to face Baszler WWE NXT Creatives, decided to delay that sort of another MYC re-match, for later (Shayna Baszler eliminated and humiliated LeRae last year at MYC). The match was so intensive and all of the women involved had their moment of domination so it was hard to be said who deserve and will win it!
LeRae and Cross made a really good back-and-forth battle, used a lot of moves. Sane had her moments, but I was impressed by Cross, who in her time of domination, bring a lot of destruction. And the Tower of Doom were nice addition...
Actually Kairi's Insane Elbow came out almost of nowhere, to stop LeRae's pin attempt and to earn her the right to challenge Baszler for the gold! The Main event was great and I really enjoy watching it. Now let's focus on the upcoming third and score-determining match (we have 1:1 in Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane's matches)!
That would be nice 1:2!
WINNER AND #1 CONTENDER FOR THE NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP: KAIRI SANE
