NXT RESULTS MARCH 25,2020: THE FIGHT FOR THE SPOTS

The show must go on and well it has!

Thankfully, this week we had more than we can imagine and it was interesting and way more interesting than RAW. Because of the action with high stakes in it. Two more spots in the #1 Contender's Ladder match were determinate and an important announcement was made.

IO SHIRAI defeated ALIYAH,
TO QUALIFY FOR THE #1 CONTENDER'S LADDER MATCH

Aliyah entered the ring hoping for retribution against Xia Li, who was originally booked to fight the Boujee. Well, Li was found injured backstage and Aliyah's smile was quickly washed away when The Evil of the Sky Io Shirai's music theme hit the arena... Well, no chance in hell and she knew it!

Shirai did what she can do better and dismantle her opponent in a short time finishing the ambitious Aliyah with a moonsault in the end to qualify.

Overview:

I am almost 100% sure that Shirai attacked Xia Li to steal the spot.

But the most important part is that The Evil of The Sky is back and she is definitely raising the stakes as a serious threat with her amazing skills and will to win.

It was nice to see Aliyah back as well. She suffered a broken nose in November 2019 after a clash with Li, so the idea was interesting as the twist was itself.

CANDICE LeRAE defeated KAYDEN CARTER,
TO QUALIFY FOR THE #1 CONTENDER'S LADDER MATCH

Surprisingly, the anticipated collision between Mercedes Martinez and Candice LeRae mysteriously was scrapped after the announcement of it. Actually, it's funny because I thought about Kayden Carter these days and how her career is going after her clashes with Chelsea Green and how sad is that she is nowhere to be seen in this series of qualifying matches.

Well, surprise, surprise!!!

Kayden not only appeared in a match tonight but she gave the best of her, neutralizing LeRae on several occasions. She's really good at the reversals. It was a great opportunity for Carter, but Candice LeRae is Candice LeRae. After a nice back and forth battle she won and qualify next to Chelsea Green, Tegan Nox, Mia Yim and her nemesis Io Shirai.

Now we have only one free spot!

Overview:

I love to watch Carter work and I am not that sorry that it wasn't Martinez. In these times of struggle, w must be ready for anything. So, I wasn't that shocked and I just said to myself: "Oh. it's Kayden who is in the match! Nice!". She's a really nice worker and she is doing a lot of hard work jobbing for others. Carter's win over Chelsea Green meanwhile was significant and I can't wait to see her pushed as a singles competitor or in a tag team with her best friend Kacy Catanzaro.

Meanwhile, as her victory was expected, that wasn't the most interesting thing about Candice LeRae. Well, she is in a match with her vicious rival Io Shirai, but for me, LeRae's post-match interview was really interesting. She finally did what I and many others prayed for - stepped out of her husband's shadow and made an official statement: It's about my career. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, are having their own affair and she won't allow being pushed in the sidelines again. This is what she had been working since War Games and Survivor Series, guys, where her role was bigger than usual.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE LAST SPOT

I thought about that! It's not very logical to leave Superstars like Shotzi Blackheart, Dakota Kai and the rest involved, without a chance to redeem themselves and to try to win the last spot. Really good idea and it's a Gauntlet match, not a Battle royal, which makes it even better.

I embrace it and can't wait to see who might win it.
