Are you kidding me?
If you are asking this question or you haven't heard about that, you should quit your "huge wrestling fan" status.
But why?
I'll answer because this is a huge step for WWE. Yes -the USA's #1 largest promotion still haven't accomplished everything and haven't done an important step that the rest had taken - to collaborate for real with other big USA companies like IMPACT Wrestling and AEW!
WWE had collaborated with Mexican and Japanese promotions in the past, with WWN PROGRESS, had some promotions as developments, like OVW, bought his biggest opponents at the time WCW and ECW and totally erased them (but not their legacy, thankfully). But they never allowed an independent, large and supper competitive concurrent promotion's stars to put a foot in their ring until their contracts are not expired.
Through the years WWE signed former TNA/Impact Wrestling Superstars like AJ Styles, Awesome Kong (Kharma), Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode. Some Impact legends had been huge WWE superstars like Gail Kim, Mickie James, and some like ODB, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky was overlooked by the Big 1. But all this time there was that forbidden door that never had been open until this year. WWE and Impact Wrestling had their colossal war since 2002 when Impact was founded as NWA: Total Nonstop Action. It was a war as the KOs was a vital part and went so far as to introduce women's matches which were previously allowed only to males and make them something regular, usual (not occasional like in WWE) for women like steel cages, ladders, tables and all extremes.
A war over talents, a war over fame and WWE wasn't able to do what it do to his old rivals like WCW and ECW, despite the attempts. Gail Kim and her peers at the time revolutionized and turn into a world-famous brand the knockouts division which bested then WWE Divas on so many occasions, many times.
Now, in 2022, after being released in a scandalous manner (her private stuff were sent to her in a trash bag), Mickie James have the chance to show what is it to be a real professional and mature person by being announced for the Women's Royal Rumble Match 2022, of course after WWE Creatives opened the forbidden door and invited her. That is huge and I still have a hard time believing it and can't wait to read and watch videos when it's happening.
This is something we had never imagined out of our brave fantasy booking dreams. This means that Vince McMahon can put aside his ego in such a massively important moment that is changing history and pushing away ears of competition against both promotions.
We also must notice that Jame is the current KOs Champion which makes things even more heated and intensive. Well, there are some concerns like - she might lose the belt to someone. Her contract status is also under question as the word goes that she is still signed with Impact Wrestling. No matter what this is huge and both promotions spent time to hype that unique moment.
Now we're waiting to see it with our own eyes on January 30,2022!
