Also, it's the home of Madison Rayne and Rebel from IMPACT and even Awesome Kong was there for a while!!! AEW is the home of Taya Valkyrie.
But what AEW was standing out at the beginning was all the women who WWE had never dared to hire. All that I will call them Originals, who build and paved the way and build that Sanctuary for the victims of WWE injustice and undertreatment.
Riho
Thunder Rosa
Britt Baker
Jamie Hayter
Kris Statlander
Hikaru Shida
Nyla Rose
Bunny
Penelope Ford
Emi Sakura
Yuka Sakazuki
Jade Cargill
Brandi Rhodes (who is not there anymore)
All of these women were there at the beginning and are still the core of that division. From Riho and Nyla who had to determine who would be the inaugural champion, and Rose somehow stepped back, due to transphobia and waited to become the second one, to Britt Baker D.M.D. who became Queen Heel and the Icon of AEW and formed one of the most stable alliance between heel women with Rebel, later Jamie Hayter! From Hikaru Shida to Penelope Ford and the legendary and fierce Thunder Rosa! From the first group of not appreciated women in WWE - Tay Melo, Marina Shafir, Serena Deeb, and Mercedes Martinez, who I can add to the Originals, to those who have established themselves and tasted the fame in there and found it bitter - Saraya, Ruby Soho, Toni Storm, Athena, the Outcasts. So, good that they didn't sign Trinity - then the whole locker room will be flooded with ex-WWE outcasts.
The young/new hopes:
Anna Jay
Julia Hart
Skye Blue
Abadon
Keira Hogan
Diamante
Red Velvet
Willow Nightingale
and more...
I can say that these are the future of AEW and the solid backup who contributed with their hard work and devotion to put that division on the map.
We need to see more of them listed as Originals. We need some shake-up, and new contenders for the main goal like Skye Blue and Kiera Hogan, stepping in. Also, AEW needs to present a women's tag team belt, soon. They have the division and actually Hogan and Diamante are two names I can see involved in it. The legends like Mercedes Martinez and Taya Valkyrie need to work more. The TBS Champion Jade Cargill needs someone to dethrone her, maybe in something like the Vickie Guerrero Invitational Match against AJ Lee at the time, but successful!
The company has so many options and so much raw talent power, to accomplish more than a 20 minutes limited tag team match with big names. There are a lot of fresh faces, who originate from that ring, and we want to see more. So, don't get offended, AEW, but the harsh criticism. Heads up and straight into the greatness!
