I am actually more than impressed with Zelina Vega's appearance than the "quickie" of a match that The Unholy Alliance of Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre put in their Blue brand debut...
And there was more!
ZELINA VEGA VS. ASUKA
I can clearly say that Zelina Vega is at her best, even when she loses!
The things that La Munieca does in the ring these days are epic and the reversals she put in work against Asuka were all "WOW"... And there were a 619, Meteora, and more!!! I am really pleased but the work they allowed her finally to do in that company, instead of pampering some machos as a valet. This is who she is! This is the woman who impressed me and I rooted for her since day one and long ago.
Well, Asuka is Asuka and no one is ready for her if their name is not Bianca Belair. The Empress was able to lock Vega into her newest submission and make her tap... To show how mean she can be, Asuka didn't release the hold which brought Belair into the ring to check on Zelin.
The Empress tried to strike with Blue mist, but this time she wasn't that precise and missed the eyes of the Champ.
Looks like all is set for the Night Of The Champions!
That was a nice segment. The match was really good and I am so happy to see Zelina doing what she can do best! Sadly, I can't give it 5 stars, because this was just a warm-up for Asuka and Belair's match. Zelina was used for her talent, as a stepping stone, which is not something less important, but it wasn't about her.
