This is how ROH named its women's talents (wrestlers, valets and backstage workers).
At this point there are 6 women signed, officially to ROH's roster. On their official site you can't see them all! Because it was not refreshed (it's an epidemic wrestling promotion web-sites non-updating or updating from good to worst), the last time we check on it.
Here are the ROH Women of Honor:
- AMBER GALLOWS
- KELLY KLEIN
- MANDY LEON
- ODB
- TAELER HENDRIX
- VEDA SCOTT
Now it's time to pick our top 5 picks! It looks we'll have to pick the whole roster except one girl. Kelly Klein is a new face for us and we didn't saw her in ROH previous year, she was included soon in the official page, so she is the unlucky one.
1. AMBER GALLOWS (a.k.a. Amber O'Neil)
We picked her first because she is the most experienced and talented female wrestler in ROH, next to ODB and Taeler Hendrix.
Amber traveled the world, was The Club's valet, competed in Japan and etc. She is a great addition to every respected women's roster. ROH are the 3rd national wrestling promotion in USA. I have a private sneak peak on their shows match card and I must confess that for Amber and her fellow WOH competitors, it's hard to be pushed in the "dark". A lot of Dark matches. Some once a year all-women event. Nothing for TV, most of the time. It reminds me on that period in WWE, where all of their then-Divas, hasn't appeared on TV for weeks and all you can do is to pray Lita and Trish to appeared on the screen, instead of the cover of WWE Divas Magazine and etc.
To have these 6 amazing women and to send them in the background: sorry, you can't win me. The only good thing that comes from all of this is that Amber can add in her resume that she was signed to ROH.
At the dawn of the women's wrestling renewed revolution, it's shameful to not even have a women's title in a mixed promotion.
I admire thier descision to signed Amber. She's great! She deserves more and I sincerely hope that ROH is just another stop on her path to the top - i.e. TNA and WWE( next to her husband - Luke Gallows)! Until this happening I hope to see her working for SHINE a lot.
2. TAELER HENDRIX
If there was not Amber Gallows in ROH, Taeler would be our #1!
She's one of my favorite. I followed her career in OVW, then her successful signing with Impact Wrestling and easy to forget run with TNA! She's great and I think that many big promotion can allowed themselves to use her Indie-popularity, to rise more attention on their shows. Taeler could use them to earn more fame.
Taeler is classy competitor and good heel at the moment. I honestly can say that she is one of the greatest indie workers at this point and I can't see why WWE/NXT didn't want to hire her! They don't like how she wrestle? Then they could refine her skills - They have Sara Amato for a coach in WWE PC, for God's sake! Amato did a miricle with NXT's women's division. She can deal with Hendrix as well!
Now she has the opportunity to work for ROH, which is not that bad, despite the "dark match" policy. I hope that one day we'll see her in WWE.
3. ODB
I've been missed that girl!
I admire her rude style and powerful moves. She is so nontraditional and so fresh. She loves what she does. She loves to work. She has a nice trashy-gimmick. The fans enjoyed her appearance.
ODB is famous about her runs with TNA Impact Wrestling, where her talent was developed and displayed. She was amazing as Knockout, as referee, and he own segment host! She entertained the people on 100%.
I hope that ROH will use her talents properly. They have opportunity to book her against several of the greatest talents ever. And at the end she is not afraid to messed-up with the guys, so she could be more than a valet.
4. VEDA SCOTT
Her high-school geek look, her gimmick!
Veda has worked in that role for most of her career. The school-girl alike wrestler with the glasses and fiery red head. Actually Veda, has one long and full with twist career, for her young age. She appeared in many big independent promotions and ahe had won a lot of championships.
I remember her match on this year Knockouts Knockdown against Rosemary. It was nice and she played her role very well. I think that she deserves more than a backstage interviewer role or competitor in a dark matches.
5. MANDY LEON
24 years old, young talent. The anti-Divas fans favorite formula - model, actress and dancer, as a background.
Reading her biography I can see that this girl has a potential. She had faced Deonna Purrazzo and defeated her in a dark matches (of course). She lost her TV debut match to (other of our favorites) Hania the Howling Huntress!
Mandy started her run with ROH at 2014. She even appeared as "rosebud" in WWE and was a part of their tryout camp in January 2015.
