ROADBLOCK PPV AFTERMATH: ANYONE SURPRISED?

Image:WWE.com

Yeah, anyone surprised?

If you are, then you forget what was on stake in this match, at this PPV... It was more than a title belt put on the line - the Charlotte Flair's unbeatable winning streak on PPVs was on the line, too and WWE decided to keep it this way! To make her undefeated on PPVs!

If you put on your WWE Network and sit and watch the show, with the 100% confidence that Sasha Banks will retain her title, then you must be the most naive person on the Earth. The chances were 50:50 even lower for The Boss.

And it was all related to that record of PPVs wins.

WWE's creatives decided to bet on this card... and the result is controversial.

As a fan, I like, love, adore and etc. Sasha Banks' character, her skills, her glamour with a drop of darkness, her feisty, aggressive side, her dedication. She is a Rock-star of wrestling. The kind of woman, that at the first sight looks like a Prima Donna , but when she starts to fight you realize, what a big mistake you are made. Sasha as a character is an embodiment of the dignity and the great choice for champion, until she turn heel (which is on horizon). As a fan I can see Charlotte as one of the hugest villains in WWE women's division at all. Even Alexa Bliss can match Flairs villainous character. As a fan I get tired, bored and angry with all of this title changes, between these two women.

Actually that title changing storylines are nothing new. We have period where the WWE Divas Championship was exchanged between Paige and AJ Lee. But Paige and AJ, had a different chemistry between them. Their matches and rivalries were different. Two non-traditional then-Divas, who played mind-games with each other and had a different styles of wrestling.

As a fan-booker (with the hope someday to be a real one) and analyst  of women's (and not only) wrestling, I can get it. Charlotte, aside from her evil, narcissistic character is a really great, natural athlete, destined to rise, not because she has a famous father. Charlotte's in ring style and accomplishments are her OWN! When you are on the ring, in that business, you are on your own, no matter who is your father, and if he help you at ringside. If you can't sell the moves and take a blows, if you are not good in developing your character and skills, nobody can't help you. Charlotte is a strong wrestler and woman on her own. It's not easy to deal with all that "boos" and hate. She deserves that victory, but it really becomes a little bit annoying and it needs some change. This rivalry really needs to end soon and Bayley to take her place in the title's picture. RAW women's division really needs to reform itself and to be allowed the other women to compete for the belt. We need Paige and Emmalina, we need Alicia Fox, Nia Jax and Dana Brooke as more active competitors. We even want to see more from Lana, because she had it!

But for now, all we can say is "Bow down to the Queen!"
Congratulations, Charlotte Flair for your winning streak record at PPVs and your 4th RAW Women's Championship!
