Why?
Why did WWE decided to throw Asuka away from WM 35?
Maybe we can expect to see her in the Main event? I don't think that this will be very logical. Somehow it will be like 'Let's take names and out all together and see what happens!' There will be no build up. It will be cheap...
Meanwhile, we are agree that The Empress deserves better!
The longest reigning NXT Women's Champion!
The inaugural Women's Royal Rumble Match 2018 Winner!
Team Raw Soul Survivor!
One of the top women of wrestling, worldwide...
And what?
Since losing her match at WM 34 to Charlotte, Asuka has been booked like she is the 'Empress of Yesterday'. Instead of fighting the best in all four brands, she is forced to compete in story lines involving James Ellsworth!!! Respect for Carmella and Mandy Rose, the first one was a nice wave of fresh air in the SmackDown Women's title picture, but... come on! Asuka was, and is, theoretically and practically better in many ways.
This year they awarded her with a victory against the Man at Royal Rumble! She deserved it. As more pragmatically, somehow logically looking as the connoisseur of women's wrestling I think that this match ended as it needed to end - setting the stage for Lynch to storm the Royal Rumble match and win it! Guys, even that one important victory, wasn't for Asuka's build up as a SDL Champion. It was about the MAN!
I think that many of you will agree, that Asuka deserves more. Deserves better opponents. Deserves better opportunities and what happened this Tuesday was controversial, because it might build something up for The Empress and The Queen, but somehow it robbed the Japanese sensation.
We hope that in the next few months Asuka will get back in the spotlight and will win the belt without Rousey's help, maybe as soon as SummerSlam, and then go on to face The Man in a title match at Evolution or Royal Rumble 2020. (Or why not WrestleMania 36?!?). We are counting on that!
