WWE OVERVIEW: FROM BACKLASH TO NXT SEPT. 11-14

SEPTEMBER 11, 2016

 THE HISTORY WAS MADE

One big, well deserved "YOU DESERVE IT!" for Becky Lynch.

One big "CONGRATULATIONS" for all of the amazing SDL women who competed in that match!!!

All of you deserve it!
Naomi flies high!

We, from AWOW are happy to see Becky Lynch there, where she belongs. At the top of the SDL women's division. That glorious, experienced and talented Superstar deserved to be the inaugural Women's champion and we, every one of us who followed her long and hard way to this moment, are on 100% happy and proud to have our Irish Lass Kicker honored with the prize.

The second Tower of doom
The match was filled with a OMG twists and turns. I can totally be proud with my team for our prediction for the final 4 women - Nikki, Carmella, Natalya and Becky of course. There were two Tower of doom, variations performed as the second leaded to elimination of Alexa Bliss. Naomi who was in her top shape for that match (as always) was eliminated by Natalya's Sharpshooter submission. We have a moment of "heated rivalry", displayed i front of the audience. Nikki and Carmella had the chance to face each other for a while. Their rivalry is not over and we may see a second women's match at No Mercy PPV.
Nikki with "hands full" of Carmella

We were happy to see Carmella and Becky at the end. That was refreshing and it was really important for both ladies characters/gimmicks pushes. Carmella received huge, well deserved push and it almost reach its peak at Backlash. The peak will be the match against Nikki. I like her "return to the Dark side". Her transformation is good and she has done everything just great.

Becky ended the match with her trademark finisher, leaving her opponent without any choice but to tap out. After long journey, with a lot of career and life changing events, now the Irish Fire Girl is where she belongs.
Well deserved title victory for The Irish Lass Kicker!!!

One more time: CONGRATULATIONS BECKY LYNCH! CONGRATULATIONS ALEXA BLISS, NAOMI, NIKKI BELLA, NATALYA AND CARMELLA!

Excellent (and beyond that) match!

WHO IS THE LEGIT CHALLENGER AND ONE LONG AWAITED TURN

RAW had to answer the challenge of SDL's Backlash PPV. And they did it, nicely.

After a emotional ring segment that involved Mick Foley, Charlotte and Dana Brooke, Sasha Banks and Bayley, we were send to watch a nice Triple threat match for #1 Contender.

But first!

YES! YES! YES! for Dana Brooke.

At last. After weeks of humiliation Dana at last responded the way she was able to respond. With slap across Charlotte's face. Thank you WWE! Dana is on her own and she is able to do more than barking around the ring.

After that shocking turn, we have a good Triple threat. Of course we saw another Tower of doom variation, but after the two we have seen at Backlash, that didn't impress me, personally, that much. It was nice and add some intrigue to the match, but it was something regular, more like "Well! Let's show the fans that our Superstars can do it, too!".

Sasha's victory was nice, with simple roll on Bayley for the three counts.  I was amazed of the WWE Universe divided reactions. They booed Dana Brooke, but cheered both Bayley and Sasha which was great. It's not necessary to have one favorite. We like them all, actually. We enjoyed Dana's involvment it was like a dose of fresh air, not the standard "Bayley vs. Sasha Pt.3".

I still, secretly have a desire to see a Triple Threat match between Charlotte, Bayley and Sasha Banks at Clash of Champions, next Sunday!

AT LAST... A OMG/HOLLY S#**$* MOMENT FOR NIA JAX AND ALICIA FOX

Last week we saw that amazing move forward for Nia Jax, that we expected. It involves the veteran, former Divas Champion Alicia Fox. The segment was funny and very good. Alicia in her "old-new" crazy gimmick earned herself the maybe the second big beat-down of her life (after Kharma nailed her a years ago).  I love Foxy's new looks and her never give up on a challenge attitude. I missed that girl.

Nia was dominant but not in the way she dominate in her previous matches against the indies. This time she didn't get a "easy victim for breakfast" match. Alicia put a good fight and didn't give up easy. The idea of that match ending in a no contest leave us with the promise for future battle between those two women. And it will be great, because both of them are capable of good competition.

About fans comment about Nia to be returned to NXT... well, people deserves opportunities. Nia deserve it and I hope that they are not going to send her send her back to NXT. No! There is nothing wrong to be send back - look how Emma's career was revived with her second run with the development. NXT is amazing and I sincerely will love to work with their roster, if  I have a possibility (dreeeaming).  In the professional wrestling, sometimes talented people or people with potential are put in a not very pleasant angles or back on the line, and the only think they could do is to wait for the opportunity and do what is asked of them. It's not Nia's fault that she was booked in a squash match. As we have mention it before, all that jobbers-squashing and smashing was a prelude for something far better.

Foxy put some fight in that match, like this beautiful kick!
Respect!

BACKLASH AFTERMATH AND A NEW #1 SURPRISING CHALLENGER

That was an awesome SmackDown Live women's event. It was sort of Backlash sequel with new goal - to determine the #1 Contender for Becky Lynch's title.

The camp was there, on the announcers table. Becky opened the segment wit passionate and emotional short speech in her  own style. The support from the audience was amazing and adequate.  The we saw that amazing Fatal-5-Way match, in which one pin or submission granted a title shot.

Every woman in the ring put the best of her in that battle. The situation was the same as on Backlash - they had 5-talented women, as each one of them deserved to win. We had Carmella and Nikki's rival extended and opening the door for the our surprising winner.

Alexa Bliss used her Backlash strategy, to try to pin everyone, when she sees a chance. The "shortest" competitor grab the opportunity and at the end used the tension between The Princess of Staten Island and The Total Bella, to steal well deserved victory.

A really good match.

SOMEONE HAS A DEATH WISH!
One match in NXT this week.

First I was happy to see Rachel Fazio, better known as Rachel Ellering. Rachel is one of the SHINE's newest roster addition and her rivalry with Tessa Blanchard is more interesting than that jobbing thing. If I have to decide who to sign at this moment to NXT from all of the indies talents who appeared in that ring I can point three names - Santana Garret, Deonna Purrazzo and Leva "Blue Pants" Bates (I am still thinking that Taeler Hendrix, Velvet Sky and Ivelisse, have a place in NXT, too). And I will not change their names to stupid ring names like Silly May or Fazziona Dunadarion or Lady Bla-Bla.

But luckily it's not my burden to decide things like that!

Now on Liv! Whole that match thing was to put Liv on the map, to pushed her in front. Nothing bad, wrong or whatever with that! I like Liv and all of the NXT's "ladies".  Actually I enjoyed Morgan's matches, buuuut I hate the endings! She had those two matches - this and one against Aliyah, who ended ... well I even can't remember how she won. Liv got a very inovative moves set, beautiful handstand headscissors, this preceded by rolling around pin was funny and fresh, she can do more better than use Dragon sleeper hold or whatever it was. She can use more intensive move as a finisher.

At the end ... the challenge! Yes, it sounds like a "death wish"... but I am intrigued. I want to see that match and how Liv will deal with that push. She has the desire  for wrestling, she has the desire to learn and show new things. She survived her first injury without quitting. So she will be a sort of a little bit refreshing for Asuka. But it's clean that the only one who can defeat the Empress of Tomorrow is Ember Moon (the other one is not in WWE/NXT as a result of bad decisions).

So we can sit and wait to see Liv trying to take on Asuka and reaching her limits and beyond.

EDITOR'S NOTE: THIS WEEK IS VERY TIRED AND BUSY FOR ME AND THE OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH AWOW. WE'VE BEEN FORCED TO DO ALL OF OUR RESULT-ANALYSES IN ONE ARTICLE, BECAUSE OF TIME AND OTHER THINGS PRESSURE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING!
