AEW RESULTS, APR.01, 2020: CLIMBING THE RANKINGS

All Elite Wrestling bet on one women's match as well. It was an established competitor against a new face.

What I appreciate as an idea was the several employees who were around the ring and some of them even were part of the show. I am also happy that finally, I can find something to illustrate my posts. You know -  no match pictures and videos on the site, locked images of the wrestlers. A little bit bloggers/reporters unfriendly situation... a bit!

HIKARU SHIDA defeated ANNA JAYY

As much as I get Hikaru Shida is having an undefeated streak. Good for her. I remember watching her against Riho for the first time in a singles match, to determine who will be one of the two women to fight to become the inaugural AEW Women's World Champion. She lost, Riho became AEW Women's World Champion!

So I watched this match closely and I can say that she is a good technical wrestler. She's bigger than most Japanese women and somehow more caucasian structure which gave her advantage and she doesn't need to put that effort that most of her fellows from the Islands of the Rising Sun, must put.

The most enjoyable moment was when she bragged with Dr. Britt Baker. This might lead to some matches in the near future. Her current opponent was some not very famous lady at this side of the ocean (Europe)- Anna Jayy, who started the match with hair in the Shida's face and put some good efforts to make the match more than Star vs. Jobber. Nice clash.

She won the match with Michinoku Driver.

Overall:

The match was to build-up Hikaru Shida and to push eventual rivalry between her and Britt Baker... Dr. Britt Baker!

This match can't stand a chance against the NXT Second Chance Gauntlet Match. Sorry! I don't know but the whole thing that AEW is doing as a product, especially in the women's division is kind of without direction. They have some great names in their women's locker room, they have a challenging Champion, and somehow they lack storytelling when it comes to women. Sometimes I think that they want to make the impression of a real sport, where the drama is not that big and people meet each other for pure and clear competition.

They showed puer and clear wrestling, but NXT showed a lot of drama and emotions.
