These past months WWE SmackDown Live is more about talking.
Oh, there is some wrestling, some brawls, but most of the time it's about someone hitting the ring and talking. If it wasn't entertaining, I won't watch it (c'mon: 'Do you know hell hard is to play mind games on a woman without a brain' - Becky Lynch about Rousey; Classic joke). But it's hard to make results overview when everything is about bla-bla-bla (as Charlotte said).
Actually, tonight there were a women's action and it was nice, but - come on where is Daniel Bryans' tradition related to the technical wrestling? Where is the technical wrestling? Where is the wrestling at all? Where is Asuka? Oh... She was there...
So let's dive in:
THE IICONICS PROMISE TO PIN EVERYONE
Actually, I am a huge fan of the IIconics!
I am following their career since their debut in WWE NXT, as single competitors (and I prayed for them and Emma, to make a stable). When they packed them together it was a brilliant move because they work really well as a tag team. Definitely the fact that they know each other before WWE has helped them a lot, since day one(ish).
When they debuted in SDL bringing chaos and helping Charlotte to drop the women's belt to Carmella, we had a taste of what they are capable off. They are not the typical heel team. They are like teen girls that bully their classmates, not because they are evil, just because they are overconfident. That gimmick paid well, but of they didn't receive a lot of a push in 2018. The great push came in 2019. The start was Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 35 is their greatest accomplishment for them, right now, at this moment.
So, last night they hit the ring and did they high-school bullying promising us that they will make WM 35 IICONIC! Yeah, they will make the title match iconic, with how they sell moves and their stunning wrestling skills. They promised us they would pin whoever it takes, to make that happen. If it happens, I won't be disappointed. I'll agree with Sasha Banks that if the Boss 'n' Hug Connection don't win, I'd prefer the IIconics as the next WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.
Their gold reign will not be just entertaining, fresh and interesting. It would be I(I)CONIC!
P.S. They make me laugh and I love that! We need more sincere laugh in our life 😀
THE MAN SPEECH WAS THE USUAL ONE
After the Monday Night's Raw entertainingly - shocking brawl and arrests, SmackDown was kind of quiet and funny looking at the women's appearances earlier in the night! All that endless speeches about who will do what at WM 35! Yeah, that is the week of the Grandest Stage of Them All!
Becky promised what she promises us every week! She will leave WM 35 as what she deserve to be - a double champion. Okay! We hope that as well, despite that we are a little bit afraid that the WWE poster child Charlotte might do that...Please, Lord(WWE Creatives) don't do it!
There wasn't any Charlotte Flair interruption, which was something new and nice, opposed to last weeks brawls between them with or without Rousey. Becky just did her promo, nicely and left the 'building'. And I laughed again at the end!
Oh so much laughing!
THE 18-PEOPLE MIXED TAG TEAM ENDED INTO A BRAWL
The next segment made me laugh and clap!
Competitors from both men and women WrestleMania 35 Battle Royals teamed up for a huge tag team match. I am not a fan of that large kind of tag team matches, because there is always someone who never steps in the ring.
Combinations of five men and four women!
Jeff and Matt Hardy, R-Truth, Heavy Machinery, Asuka (here she is), Carmella, Naomi aaaand Nikki Cross (sign her to SDL, for god sake) met Shelton Benjamin, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Andrade 'Cien' Almas, Zelina Vega, Lana, Sonya and Mandy.
Zelina Vega and Nikki Cross started the match intensively and I can honestly say that these women are both pure talent, and we need to see more of them on Tuesday! Actually everyone had a in-ring moment, despite our doubts!
Then the brawl happened...
Bodies flying everywhere! Naomi hits Rear View on Luke Gallows after attacking and throwing out Karl Anderson. Mandy Rose stood face to face with Otis from Heavy Machinery until Shelton Benjamin saved her and they both exchanged high-five! Asuka kicked the taste out of EC3's mouth, after Jeff Hardy set him for her. And then Hardy and the Empress celebrated with warm hug, until Asuka threw him out of the ring in the WM35 Battle Royal spirit, making a statement!
Yeah, girl! I hope you'll win that whole thing and will chase the winner of the Main Event, to death!
OMG! Can't wait for WrestleMania 35 and George's Predictions!
