On our way to Rebellion PPV, we have a really interesting episode. I enjoy watching it. Four women's segments. Two matches. Two backstage actions.
Impact Wrestling is warming up for next Sunday (Rebellion PPV, April 28, 2019), we will warm up with predictions next week, as well.
So let's check the (late) results!
SCARLETT BORDEAUX & FALLAH BAHH defeated DESI HIT SQUAD (ROHIT RAJU & RAJ SINGH) /w. Gamma Singh
INTERGENDER TAG TEAM MATCH
Impact Wrestling started with a really entertaining and we kind of expect it match (it was logical that match to happen. see here).
Scarlett Bordeaux teamed with the giant Fallah Bahh, to help him teach the Desi Hit Squad a lesson that they won't forget soon. Actually, the match was incorrectly named Mixed Tag, but to be a mixed tag you need to have females on both teams, and the rules are different (man faces man, woman feces woman). This was pure, joyful Intergender match.
I really love the brave idea of Impact to explore the area of the 'man vs. woman' wrestling. Congratulations on the brave and risky decision, congratulations for Scarlett, who's look deceives the audience, but she is solid in that kind of matches. Her involvement in that kind of matches was really risky and brave too.
I love it! Especially, the moment with the Stink Face, when one of the Desi Hit Squad begged Bordeaux to perform the move on him, she asked the guy to cover his eyes and... the 'poor thing' received a big, fat, totally not sexy Stink Face from Bahh!
Recap:
I really enjoy the idea of using sexy and stature woman to kick men's arsses. At the time it was kind of hard for me to watch this type of wrestling (intergender), but soon, matches like Pentagon Dark vs The Black Lotus Triad, Reklusa vs. Pentagon Dark, Ivelisse vs. many of the Lucha Underground guys... all of this and the women's statement that they love to wrestle with men, changed my way of thinking, for good I hope...
That was a really nice opening of the show on Friday and I just can't wait to see Bordeaux and Bahh, next moves - as a tag team or as singles competitors. I can't wait to see Scarlett facing some of the strongest women in Impact like Tessa Blanchard, Taya Valkyrie, and Su Yung, as well! Overall, I like her booking and she looks solid in her matches. I can handle more...
Good Job!
KIERA HOGAN CONFRONTS ROSEMARY... AND WE HOPE THAT SHE GOT THE MESSAGE FROM THE DEMON ASSASSIN
This week The Firefly of the KOs division made another confrontation with the Demon Assassin.
Hogan desperately wants to fight The Undead Bride Su Yung at Rosemary's side. Well, Rosemary is not pleased by the idea. The moment Hogan stated that there 'Two of Us' in that fight, The Demon Assassin decided to be 'clear' that this fight is her own... She brutalized Hogan, ending the attack with 'Now we are one'
Recap:
Okay! For me, all of this Supernatural type drama is kind of interesting and funny. It's fresh! We haven't seen anything like that on other main promotions. Both women are building a nice story as Rosemary's character really elevates Kiera Hogan.
I think that the consequences of this match will be a singles match, where it will be decided who will fight Su Yung (I hope at Rebellion) to avenge the Bunny (Allie). For me, that is a logical follow-up. They need to set things up, between them!
TESSA BLANCHARD IN A JUGGERNAUT MODE, BEFORE HER CLASH WITH GAIL KIM, NEXT SUNDAY
Next Knockouts segment involved Tessa Blanchard running around Gail Kim's husband restaurant and brings chaos, attack innocent employee and customers, wanting to deliver a personal message.
You'll see in the video...
Recap:
Mmm... I don't know! The segment purpose was clean - Tessa wanted to send a message to Gail Kim 'Be ready for everything!'. The interesting part is that is mostly a men's type of angle - running around, trying to harm their opponents' family members and spouses to send a word. Nice idea.
I think that she might bring more destruction, but that portion of bullying was kind of ... enough. I am looking forward to Gail Kim's move, next week. Or we might see Tessa attacking Kim's home?!
The goal is completed: I want to see how Gail Kim vs. Tessa Blanchard will end up, next Sunday at Rebellion!
MADISON RAYNE defeated IMPACT KNOCKOUTS CHAMPION TAYA VALKYRIE,
IN A NON-TITLE MATCH
Oh, that Bad, Bad Taya!
She started the match with an announcement that... she won't fight tonight after insulting Canadian fans and the whole country, which actually is her home country!
Well, Madison Rayne, wasn't that easy to be ignored and she started the things out throwing several good moves at the Champ. Of course, La Wera Loca decided that she can quit the match, after the bell, by just leaving the arena, looking arrogant and not giving a damn.
Well, she didn't see it coming!
The #1 Contender, hungry for gold, Jordynne Grace entered the ramp and returned her Rebellion opponent into the ring, where Madison Raye quickly finished after Valkyrie's distraction caused by Grace's appearance.
Recap:
Another clear idea - more heat and hype for the KOs Title match at Rebellion. Okay! But, wasn't that a risky move?! Isn't Madison Rayne a contender as well?
It's not necessary, but it's usual to have the woman who pinned the Champion involved in a title match. Are we gonna see a Triple Threat in the last minute? That would be kind of ... shocking ?!? Strange?!? Confusing?!?
I think that they need to give Madison Rayne a title shot next week. It looks like Impact Wrestling's Creatives are happy to have her back and they book her against the biggest names on the roster, winning over two of them (she defeated Tessa Blanchard, with Gail Kim's assistance, last week and Taya Valkyrie this week). So, why not? Give her a match against Valkyrie for the belt! It would be really interesting and bringing to the edge of the seat... They should add Johnny Impact, Jordynne Grace and Brian Cage in the mix, prior to the PPV and end the match with a dirty finish by Taya! Sounds nice!
OVERALL:
My favorite parts were the Intergender tag team match and the Kiera-Rosemary angle.
Taya vs. Madison was too short! Yeah, it worked as an idea, but it was too short. For me, Taya and Madison are able to put a better show. Tessa destroying Kim's husband restaurant was too usual. But their fit well in the show. They had clean ideas that reach the audience, too.
Overall, with all of this action, we had a nice episode and KO's appearances.
