A newcomer met a friend and a foe. Legend fought an on her way monstrous Legend and the Impact World Champion had a lot of troubles with her Rebellion opponents. Impact Wrestling continues to give us a stable product with more action than storytelling, which is kind of good. Actually, both things are balanced.
KYLIE RAE MET IMPACT HALL OF FAMER GAIL KIM, SUSIE AND KIERA HOGAN
In a backstage segment, the hot new addition to the KOs' division Kylie Rae met several important personalities from her locker room. First, she met the Hall of Famer Gail Kim and then bump on the Su Yung's friendly alter ego - Susie. Their friendly encounter was interrupted by the vicious Kiera Hogan, who is set to face Rae at Rebellion (wow, that is fast), as the former Firefly makes it known to Rae that there are no friends in Knockouts division. After that Hogan challenged Susie who tried to defend Kylie, on a match later that night.
HAVOK defeated MADISON RAYNE
Filled with confidence and arrogance Madison Rayne looked like she didn't give a damn against who she is standing against. Well, it quickly changed when Havok released her destructive blasts on her.
"I am a five-time KOs Champion!" didn't do much to help Rayne took advantage, at some point her silly attempts to dominate were funny with the absurd they were and they did nothing but to anger the killing machine. She had some moments but it was all about Havok! And Havok ended the match with a piledriver.
Overall:
Really nice package with two really big stars - one legendary and iconic Knockout, the other current legend and symbol of destruction form the indie scene.
The match was really joyful and professional, maybe not memorable but not something you might regret if you value pure in-ring action. Madison was great in her mean-girl gimmick, barging around and giving her best. Havok looks like she finally has a home in her latest run with Impact Wrestling and I hope that they will keep her as much long as it's possible. She is an amazing talent that WWE missed to sign for good maybe - seeing how they are managing some of the talents like Purrazzo, it's better for Havok to be in the Impact House.
TAYA VALKYRIE IS PRACTICING FOR REMATCH AGAINST JORDYNNE GRACE, ROSEMARY IS SEARCHING FOR A SOUL AND MORE BACKSTAGE SEGMENTS
I will cite ImpactWrestling.com:
Taya Valkyrie is practicing her chair shots on John E Bravo ahead of her Full Metal Mayhem match against Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship at Rebellion.
World Champion Tessa Blanchard questions why Eddie came to her aid last week after she specifically asked him not to. Eddie accuses Tessa of being stubborn and says he should accept her help tonight when they challenge The North for the Tag Team Championships.
Rosemary continues her search for a soul. Johnny Swinger interrupts and claims he is what she’s looking for. Rosemary tells him that Taya Valkyrie would never allow her to do such a thing. Swinger has been drinking and reveals he has a match against a young buck in M Jackson next week.
Overall:
Everyone, every key KOs, around is kept busy and on-screen! Good strategy.
KIERA HOGAN defeated SUSIE
Another beautiful match with some pre-story.
Kiera Hogan was dominant at the beginning just to lose an advantage to Susie who did some really impressive spots. When it comes to Su Yung's alter ego there was a story in the match - the moment when Susie searched for the bloody glove which belongs to her evil persona. That caused her the match and she ended slaine by Hogan's modified swinging neckbreaker.
Overall:
Nice, competitive, pure wrestling match, with some dramatic moments. It's sort of a push for both women, despite Susie's loss. Kiera is getting heat for Rebellion, Susie's confusion is a build-up for another dark story as it looks.
TENILLE DASHWOOD IS BACK AND SHE IS FACING TAYA VALKYRIE NEXT WEEK!!!
Impact Wrestling citation :
The returning Tenille Dashwood tells Jimmy Jacobs that next week, she’s facing the former Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie one-on-one.
Overall:
That's great! We will have some good action next week and I can't wait to see Tenille who is amazing against the vicious Taya!
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE NORTH (ETHAN PAGE & JOSH ALEXANDER) defeated WORLD CHAMPION TESSA BLANCHARD AND EDDIE EDWARDS,
TO RETAIN THE TITLE BELTS
No knight in shining armor, just paranoia!
The match was great. Both Eddie and Tessa worked well together at some point. Blanchard took several really bad tag team and solo moves by Page and Alexander. She applied a beautiful Destroyer (damn that move looks great).
In the end, Tessa's paranoia about hеr challenger took its toll. The champ refused to tag with Edwards and fall victim of her insecurity after a brutal tag team maneuver from the North...
Post-match, Blanchard yelled at Eddie that she knows what he wants and Edwards left her in the ring to lick her wounds... but Michale Elgin - the third participant in the Rebellion's Triple Threat World Title match slide in her back and attacked Blanchard. This time Eddie Edwards refused to come to her aid, so for this week in a row, Elgin stands tall holding the title belt after a horrific Elgin Bomb on Tessa...
Overall:
This title match is going to be a hell of an event. It has really strong development as backstage and as in-ring story. I can only praise the creatives and all wrestlers involved for making that so exciting.
Can't wait to see what will happen next!
Rebellion will take place on Sunday, April 19, and it's closer, so next week will be the final to add more touches and increases to the card and this match specifically.
