WWE NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair, NXT Women's Title Match |
Forewords:
Four women's matches! Four titles on the line! All of this in one really unique WrestleMania, in times of pandemic, without fans in the audience, rumored to be on several different locations and that will continue two nights -this Saturday (April 04) and Sunday (April 05).
Rumors flew before we had the matches announced and they were accurate,
eventually not predicting the women's tag team match right.
Some of the matches were build-up slowly and carefully, with some action and a lot of words (NXT and Raw Women's belts). Some were announced and
build quickly (SmackDown Women's Title match (two weeks and counting)
and WWE Women's Tag Team Title match (a one-week build-up)).
Despite that, we will have the NXT Women's title defended for the first time at WM and we expect it to be great. We also expect a lot from the
the five-pack challenge, medium excitement for the tag team gold and some
prayers for Raw's title...
Let's predict...
This match had one of the best build-ups to it. It started before the COVID-19 pandemic and continued with some video-exchanges. The Queen Charlotte Flair promised us another historical moment for her. The Nightmare Rhea Ripley promised us nothing less than a victory. But all I know is that I don't want to see Flair walking away with the title.
I really hope to see Rhea Ripley defend it.
With all due respect, Charlotte has accomplished a lot and she will have a lot of great moments and it would be just sad to see her robbing Ripley for an important one like this. I really hope that they won't do this to everyone. Flair is one of the top names in WWE and she has a lot more to accomplish. This belt is not that important to her as it was in the past.
It's important for Rhea Ripley and the rest of the rising Superstars who will wait a lot before entering WrestleMania's ring and they have this one beacon of hope. And Rhea Ripley has become a beacon of her own. Her last two years were full of success and led her to this important milestone and I hope that she will leave the Grandest Stage of them All as a winner.
But what if Charlotte wins?
I don't know. I don't even want to feel it. Sadly it's a possibility.
Some age of dominance with no closer ending of it will fall over the NXT's women's battle lines. There are people who will challenge her like Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Candice LeRae and Ripley herself, but I hope that we won't see it happened.
Overall, this will be a great match between the present and the future. I will enjoy it for sure.
