WWE NXT RESULTS, APR. 22, 2020: ARE YOU READY TO BOW DOWN?!

A revenge attempt in a tag team war and some HBIC action were WWE NXT's this week's suggestions for women's wrestling. Of course, the Queen emerged up and suggested a challenge.

RAQUEL GONZALEZ & DAKOTA KAI defeated SHOTZI BLACKHEART & TEGAN NOX

It looked like Blackheart and Nox would get some payback from the heel duo, but it wasn't meant to happen.

During the whole match, Blackheart was unstoppable and shined bright with her in-ring technique. Nox was better support and sort of a powerhouse (if you could compare in that category next to Raquel). There were a lot of good moments as top rope crossbody to the outside.

In the end, Gonzalez proves to be too big/strong/ mountain to climb. She just reverses Blackheart desperate move and nailed the green hair sensation back first into the mat.

MIA YIM defeated JESSIE KAMEA

It was a nice warm-up match for the HBIC (Head Baddie In Charge). We haven't seen Kamea who is a long time signee to the Performance Center and appears in Live Events. It looks like she was changing image - from a friendly geek into a baddie on her own.

Well, that didn't help the long-legged Jessie to win and with a foot, in the face, she was down for 1-2-3... and there the interesting and the vital part happened.

Charlotte Flair emerged and started to praise Mia Yim, reminding her of their match in 2014th (Oct.23), when Yim helped her 'to become a star'. Then the Queen told that she will return the favor, which doesn't mean anything good and the HBIC got it.

ANNOUNCED FOR THE NEXT WEEK:
MIA YIM vs. WWE NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPION CHARLOTTE FLAIR,
ON WWE NXT,
WEDNESDAY, APR. 29, 2020

OVERALL

First, match left me with the impression that Raquel Gonzalez and Shotzi Blackheart were in the spotlight, in different key moments of the match,  while the old rivals Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox were left in the background. It was a nice to touch from the creatives because Blackheart definitely is one of the quickly rising Superstars. I will not be surprised if she ended in 2020 as a Champion.

About Gonzalez - she is the enforcer who changes the game constantly. Really classic character and powerhouse who reminds me of Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon). She is strong and dangerous and I am looking forward to what the future holds for her in NXT, because it's hard and there are several more developed powerhouses in WWE, who are outshining her like Nia Jax, Tamina, and Piper Niven. Raquel has a long way to go and her start was not bad.

About Mia Yim and Jessie Kamea: Nice sparing. I don't know what is Kamea's future development in the crowded locker room, but she really put a good stand against Yim. But...

The match was all about the challenge! We expected it since WWE Raw this Monday. I think that Charlotte vs. Mia Yim has a lot of potentials to be the main event and a memorable match, because this two are really amazing wrestlers and it's great that this 'rematch' is happening, no matter what the end might be (I'll be happy if there is a real drama and Yim somehow defeats Flair. Like Rhea Ripley causing a distraction and a Fatal-4-Way on the way with Shirai, Ripley (rematch) and Yim fighting the Queen for the belt)
