WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE RESULTS, APRIL 16, 2019: SHAKE UP SHAKES EVERYTHING

The Shake Up really shook up the two brands and I can say that it finally brought some real action to SmackDown Live women's division.

We had several entries from Raw and a stunning unexpected addition from NXT. The question is - where is Nikki Cross? Where she will be assigned?

CHARLOTTE FLAIR defeated CARMELLA /w. R-Truth/

The Queen returns! Luckily, she was booked to face a different opponent, she didn't throw herself in a confrontation with the Man immediately. Thanks, God!

Her 'victim' was The Princess of Staten Island, The winner of WrestleMania 35 Women's Battle Royal match - Car-Mellaaa...

As the commentators mentioned these know each other well. The match was good, as I love to say pleasantly usual with several twists. In the end, Flair capitalizes on Carmella's injured knee and after assaulted the injury and locked Figure-8-Leglock to win.

Post-match, the brute Lars Sulivan attacked R-Truth who was in the ring checking his mixed tag partner.

Recap:

These days we are witnessing a new wave, a rise in the WWE Women's division, overall. With Becky Lynch as Double Champion, WWE Women's Tag Team titles as other hot topic and NXT under the Queen Of Spade's dark reign, all the locker rooms are like a bee-hives angered and buzzing, ready for opportunities.

Carmella is a serious possible #1 Contender with her own Grand prize from WM 35, that should not be excluded from the equation. Well, her loss to Charlotte brings the Queen step ahead, but Mella already has her spot reserved with that shiny trophy that she cares around with pride.

As I said I am happy to see Charlotte, not directly sent into a confrontation with The Man. I think that with the two new women, from Raw, the Queen will have to fight her way back in the title picture, but let's not forget one important thing - her REMATCH CLAUSE! She still has the right of a rematch.

A SERIES OF INTERRUPTIONS AND PAIGE DROPPED THE BOMB

It's time to introduce the new names on SDL women's roster!

We started with the Man who is everywhere, with her two belts. Becky Entered the ring for her usual talk to the people and she was usually interrupted by Raw's former-talents, currently 'shake-up' to SmackDown - Ember Moon and Bayley! Both newcomers announced their intentions to challenge for the belts.

Then The IIconics entered the stage with their shiny belts mocking Bayley. Their laughter and bullying were cut short by Paige, who was interrupted by her former team - Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville who entered the ring.

Finally, Paige dropped the bomb - she i8ntroduced her anticipated team! Asuka and straight from NXT The Pirate Princess Kairi Sane are joining forces to create a serious threat for the IIconics reign.

 Recap:

I think I mentioned the possibility Kairi Sane to be transferred to SmackDown Live (in our last week's NXT Overview). You know - Shayna Baszler put an ultimatum for Sane, if she loses to the Queen of Spades, the Pirate Princess won't have any more title opportunities. Well, Sane needed a backup plan and here she is teaming with another great Japanese superstar who needs some help with her career -Asuka!

Ember Moon presence ... well, yesterday I was browsing through the Raw Roster and I saw Moon and I thought just for a second 'Could she be drafted to SDL?' and today I got my answer. I think that this change will be important for Moon and for SDL. I really hope The War Goddess to receive more attention and opportunities than in Raw and I think that she will have a clash with Charlotte Flair on her way to the title match.

Bayley... well, the rumors and hopes pointed at Sasha Banks as an eventual draft to the Blue Brand and to see Bayley instead of the Boss, was - whatever! For me, the sad thing is that WWE ruined the Boss 'n' Hug Connection rematch opportunity, eventually. On the other hand, it will be nice to see these two working solo again.

BAYLEY, EMBER MOON, ASUKA AND KAIRI SANE /w. PAIGE/ defeated WWE WOMEN'S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE IICONICS (BILLIE KAY AND PEYTON ROYCE) AND MANDY ROSE AND SONYA DEVILLE

The best way to welcome all of these new Superstars in the Blue Brand is with a tag team match!

Really nice and full of talents who literally flies around the ring. The moment when Asuka and Sane hit the ring together was magnified. Overall, the match was dynamic. Ember Moon did her stunning acrobatic stuff, Bayley was there as solid support and we had that moment when every woman was involved into consecutive attacks on one another.

In the end, Kairi Sane jumped from the top rope applying her Insane Elbow on Royce for the win and The Good Guys won it all.
Recap

Really strong start for Bayley, Ember, and Kairi in SmackDown Live. Now we hope to see them keeping their momentum going. The match was interesting and dynamic, the talents were perfect in their performance.

For me, the IIconics title reign is seriously thretened.  With Sane and Asuka ready to chase them and already scored a win over the champions, the future looks dark for Peyton and Billy. It was nice to see you as champs for a while, girls, bye-bye!

Overall:

Where is Nikki Cross? Why they didn't assign her to SmackDown Live? She is suitable enough to help to bring some intrigue, craziness and more life into the Blue brand. What are you waiting for, WWE?

What is this all about? All of these teams disbanding? The SAnitY are disbanded. Boss 'n' Hug Connection disbanded and Liv Morgan from the 'Riott Squad' separated from the pack. I hope they have something good in store for her, or else this is stupid! The Riott Squad had their super team dynamic. They were great in the way they where... or maybe Nikki Cross will join them 😉😉😉 ?!... I am really not sure about that. Liv Morgan is relly talented young lady, she is innovative and AWOW has always praised her, but now I am affraid for her. I desperately hope that WWE Creatives have any ideas about her development as a singles competitor.
